it used to be mostly low-rise south of the river, the Shard a notable recent exception. Now new towers are popping up and reaching for the sky every day...

Worked yesterday and today and made little progress. This is when SHIPping gets annoying.

In progress - my first attempt at drawing with pastels, and my first attempt at drawing in colour. There's more detail to add to this and some tidying up, then the other half to start working on.

A cool Edwardian house in #kew in the process of being knocked down and probably replaced with a neo-Georgian or neo- French provincial house that won't really fit the suburb or environment. If you're going to build a new house... Build a modern house...

Do to the cold weather, I'm going back in time to find something fun to do. I'm going to post a series of four images over the next few days that I think are quite fun. I hope you enjoy them and the attempt at humor as the series progresses. Hopefully the titles will tell the story..... THE END!!

Best viewed LARGE or ORIGINAL if you have time... thanks....

Some more progress has been made. The engine mounts were modified to have a better connection. The airframe has also been flushed out a bit more and is closer to its final form. Right now I'm out of light bluish grey slopes so will be a bit before there is more direct vertical progress. I may skip up to the inter-stage ring or perhaps the warhead/spacecraft. Stay tuned!

The Neoframe has some fun posing options at this point. We'll see how I end up building the armor and head and all that...most of the hard parts are done.

Whole progress of my new drawning :).

And I did not like her mouth... -.-.

An update on the granny stripe. It's been going very slowly. I find it difficult to work on now that it isn't portable.

The colors in this photo are much more true than in the other photos.

Sunda Kelapa - a harbour in North Jakarta which was once the hub of colonial trade in the Dutch East Indies, now a planned site for lucrative building developments, malls and apartments.

On the outskirts of all this progress lives a local community of fishermen's families, perched on levees of driftwood to hold back the rising sea.

Kids here make their way to school past diggers and scaffolding as their homes crumble quietly into canals, waiting for the bulldozers to arrive.

A snapshot of progress in modern Jakarta.

Standing close in to the conifer plantation up at Shap Wells mainly for some protection from the biting wind, you get this superb grandstand view back down towards Scout Green. Howgill Fell is the backdrop and what a sight they made when the light at 12.05 shined on them. Slogging her way up to the summit at Shap with the WCME - LMS Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 No 46233 Duchess of Sutherland makes a fine sight on a blustery winter day on Shap.

Here's a comparison of my progress this year in SL Photography! I learn something new every time I set up a new shot. Who knows what 2020 will bring? :)

The Century of Progress Architectural District is an historic residential district in Beverly Shores, Indiana. The district is on Lake Shore Drive, now within the boundaries of Indiana Dunes National Park. The district comprises five buildings, all from the Homes of Tomorrow Exhibition of the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair, which took place in Chicago. Intended to display the future of housing, the Century of Progress Homes reflect a variety of designs, experimental materials and new technologies. In 1986, the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Beverly Shores-Century of Progress Architectural District.

Indiana Dunes National Park is located in northwestern Indiana that was authorized by Congress in 1966 as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore (the name by which it was known until it was designated the nation's 61st national park on February 15, 2019). The park runs for nearly 25 miles along the southern shore of Lake Michigan; it contains approximately 15,000 acres. Its visitors center is in the town of Porter. Located in the park are sand dune, wetland, prairie, river, and forest ecosystems.

Indiana Dunes National Park has acquired about 95% of the property within the authorized boundaries. Several of its holdings are non-contiguous and do not include the 2,182-acre Indiana Dunes State Park, which is within the boundaries of the national park but is owned, managed, and protected by the state of Indiana. The national park is divided into 15 parcels of various acreage. Along the lakefront, the eastern area is roughly the lake shore south to U.S. 12 or U.S. 20, between Michigan City (on the east) and the ArcelorMittal steel plant (on the west). A small extension, south of the steel mill continues west along Salt Creek to Indiana 249. In addition, there are several outlying areas, including; Pinhook Bog, in LaPorte County to the east. The Heron Rookery in Porter County, the center of the park, and the Calumet Prairie State Nature Preserve and the Hobart Prairie Grove, both in Lake County, the western end of the park. Also within the National Park is the Hoosier Prairie State Nature Preserve, managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

undulating mosaic sculpture/bowl in progress

After a few days' work (on and off, not constant!), this is how far I've progressed on the bargain Michèle Wilson wooden jigsaw puzzle . As you can see, I've more or less completed the aviary and now have the greenery to assemble. I have a feeling that the hardest part is yet to come...

The push fit makes it slow going: every time I insert a piece it dislodges all the ones around it.

So far it seems to be complete, but only time will tell.

I downloaded a copy of the image which has helped enormously, if only so I can check that I'm on the right track.

I can understand why this puzzle ended up in a charity shop, it's a stinker!

Mike's working on a 1000pc (cardboard) mini-puzzle while I'm assembling this one, I have a feeling he'll finish first!

I'm working on a new watercolor painting now.

It's called "Magnolia".

I got the heater core box set back in and called it a night. I figure if I can do even 15 minutes a day I'll have the car back on the road eventually.
