~i haven't seen this dude in at least five years. hank is a self taught banjo player (banjoist) and he actually is able to make a living out of it.
his band, barefoot manner came in town to play. unfortunately i had to wake up at four thirty the next morning, so i left before the opening band even started.
now, bluegrass isn't really my thing, but good music is good music, especially live. plus this cat has an electric banjo and he is sponsored by the same company that sponsors Steve Vai*... so look for the heart shaped double banjo real soon.
technical note: i just "upgraded" from a Polaroid ONE to a Polaroid ONEPro. the only deference being that the Pro has a lightness/darkness switch. i'm an idiot. so i couldn't figure if it was darkness meaning it was dark out or if the goal was for darker picture. Jägermeister helped to confuse this situation more, but yes, hank is that white.

Weekend pro rodeo event put on by Rawhide Rodeo Company. Lots of great action, cowgirls and cowboys, horses and cattle, and great weather!
On Friday the 13th some folks over at St. Thomas put on a small bike race around the college area of St. Paul. I think there were 48 riders. Deren, Nick, and I finished in a little under an hour, (we think) getting the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots. Sean finished shortly after us. Then some kids hung out and did tricks and stuff. Fun stuff!

Half the light at this photo store burned out, leaving a funny message. The best part? It was like that ALL SUMMER LONG.
This came with a letter from one of the students in the photo - it was taken with her camera after my talk at Yanshan University. They were all very friendly and enthusiastic.
