High pressure system meets low pressure system and a tight pressure gradient forms aloft. Orographic wave clouds develop as strong lift winds rise over the Cathedral Mountains, beyond sight over the trees.

naked bulb didn't like this role, but he took it anyway....he needs the attention.

A wedding party took advantage of a short break in the yesterday's rain and did the photos in "our" park. It was still drizzly and very foggy, so hat's off to their photog for having a go. Great to watch him work his magic, getting what should be some very atmospheric & unusual shots of her big day. I couldn't resist a sneaky snap as well.

For any of you out there that are finding the day a bit on the heavy side and are feeling under pressure !!

Plus I have got a barometer ( including thermometer & hydrometer ) and it is a good excuse for a shot sort of related to the time of year .

And a good excuse for Tres Hombres -----------

The good kind.

People ask me, sometimes, how I understand my students. There's a bit of them in everyone, and moreso in me sometimes. I crave deep pressure. Deep pressure is something often associated with autism, although by no means is it something that every autistic person craves. But I do. It relaxes me more than anything.

Today I climbed in between the box springs and very heavy mattress. It was so calming. I want Temple Grandin's hug machine (she is an adult with autism who has written two great books and works in animal science using her experience with autism).

So I get it, sometimes. I don't pretend to understand everyone completely, and there are more to people than their "quirks." But I get this one. I'm feeling much better now.

(It's much harder to get out than climb in, just FYI). :)

Other little "things":

-I am obsessive with symmetry. if I scratch one leg, put pressure on even one finger, I have to do it to the other side, even though that side isn't itching/wanting pressure/whatever.

-I HAVE to end stairs on the right foot or I feel so weirded out I have to go climb them again

-I've developed a new way of walking because my weight isn't distributed as evenly as it was before around my middle, and I don't like the way it twists when I walk normally, so I always have my left shoulder forward.

There's always room for a little more.

Seeing the sky again was a bit of a relief. We are almost at the end of the line here. The railway is cut off by a by-pass bridge at La Ferte Mate and therefore it isn't possible to enter the town.

At the end of the line there were a lot of French families waiting for us and we felt a little pressured to turn around and head back quickly. The only picture I got of the location was a little shaky as a result of my haste.

This water comes spews out of an outlet that is just below a dam and is at a public park. On a hot summer day this is the place to be. (DSC_4634.jpg)

The pier and beach huts may be a bit of a cliché, but sod it, it's not often you get to shoot them with snow on

Description: For some strange reason no written - or at least very little - information is available about the extraordinary construction of this beautiful watertower located at Borkum Island (East Frisia, Lower Saxony, Germany). At this point, the only information I know about it is that it was build in 1891.

Flanders is a cyclist's paradise with many beautiful routes along the canals and rivers. Besides bicycles, you also see recumbent tricycles.

A recumbent tricycle is a solution that helps the rider lean back in a reclined position, distributing the weight over a wider area. This makes the ride much more comfortable and reduces strain and pressure on your back, shoulders, neck and wrists.

Thanks to Dan Daniels for his suggestion for a title.

Under pressure for this week's theme, a column of mercury in an old sphygmomanometer (blood pressure gauge).

Enjoy the pressure. Enjoy the stress. Enjoy being uncomfortable. And don't shy away from it, embrace it.
