While a young man paddles a boat which just left a village seashore, his companion - a much older guy who is standing at the front side - gazes the distant views which are all covered by thick, gray clouds.
The cloudy skies and scattered/isolated rainshowers are due to a low pressure area (LPA), which was formerly a tropical depression. The bad weather, which was forecast to be experienced mainly in five provinces in Central and Northern Luzon and in Metro Manila, has forced many local fishermen to remain at home.
Taken in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.
A macro view of a ¾ " water heater connector. The frame spans 2 3⁄8 -inches across.
Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR, one-foot above and two-feet away from the subject, and fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄8 -0.7EV power through Neewer soft boxes.
The connector was light-painted with the red and blue LEDs of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight over a 5s exposure in a dark room.
The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X triggers.

The weatherman is whipping up the citizenry that a storm is coming. All those tech tools working, yet walking out the door, you can feel the pressure drop and see the clouds evolving. Beats watching talking heads. Cheers.

I was given a 7 hour time slot to paint this peice, The gate to the lot would lock up at 5 and I wasn't allow to stay and paint past business hours. Anyway, I showed up an hour late and painted my ass of for 6 hours. It was a real workout because of the scale, and my forearm felt like it was a wet noodle after. Although the time constraint helped with the 'deconstructive painting style, random 3d, hollow effects and negative spaces played a big role.
The pressure to succeed will bind you long before your work can set you free.
You must get all As, earn at least two science degrees, publish in top journals, have a gainful job, own a house, own a car, know two or more languages, get married, have perfect children, maintain top physical health, play a sport, eat organic, save $700 a month for retirement, have no debt, have good credit, own a cool dog, maintain an even temperament, vacation in the mountains, and be beautiful all before you are 30.
Or, you can be good to yourself and take it one step at a time.
She is wearing a graduation cap, and her hands are tied with honor cords. We were on top of a little mountain as a storm moved in.
This picture is dedicated to all my fellow graduate students.
Evidently they only know how to photograph one pose...?

These Tree V Fold photographs show trees forming a fantastic figure fashioned from branches and leaves.
The sign with birds in silhouette both open and closed catches the eye and makes for a great positive message as you walk from the Car Park to the Visitor’s Centre. I was very pleased with the single image and also with the joining of images which immediately offered two variants. The two variants were either the original full frame joining forming a Tree V Fold, or a sharper incised cut to make a more precise V Fold at the centre of the pictures.
The Sun and Winter go very well together. Bright and strong the shadow making light built everything, well photographically at least. This is a great place with excellent cafe and visitor’s centre making a superb human reaction to help wildlife. This place is a reserved world of natural wonders nestled in amongst our modern pressures of life and living that often overlook wildlife and the chance to be calmer and closer to the land, water and sky and also to those that never left the cycle of seasonal lifestyle.

What can I say about this place. So many mixed feelings and emotions. Advertised as an exotic destination to drink cocktails, smoke cigars, and drive around in classic cars, but once there the "conscious" visitor can quickly realize the crippling pressure that this country (and mainly its people) is under. Shot in Havana.
High pressure system meets low pressure system and a tight pressure gradient forms aloft. Orographic wave clouds develop as strong lift winds rise over the Cathedral Mountains, beyond sight over the trees.
