Chrono Trigger (SNES) bead-sprite tribute

A commision for a Geek Café.

In this wonderful piece of art, we see me (easily recognized on the hair and outfit, even though I've lost the scarf) talking into the mic of my portable podcast machine, tapping my foot to run it. My computer is directly connected to the output with a pipe, as shown. The podcast, when produced, will appear out of the metal funnel at the front.

Brilliant, innit?

I used Derek Yu's pixel art tutorial (http://derekyu.com/extras/pixel01.html) to get a grip.

A pixel art collaboration created with the unreasonably talented Catherine Unger. All sorts of desktop and mobile wallpapers downloadable here... dl.dropbox.com/u/11137601/pixelmas_wallpapers.zip Enjoy!

Some forms of art often remind me of the importance of ambiguity and imagination, it's often alright to deny the detail that is usually so necessary in other visual mediums. I've always been attracted to pixel art because even with limited visual information a picture can still be intriguing and actually fun to interpret. You can allow your mind to imagine a world within those pixels. Pixel art reminds me of childhood, playing on games consoles and on my Amiga.

tentative d'un pixelart d’œuf :-)

these rather innovatively decorated toilets in Altona North, just off the freeway near Miller's Road.

This might be the coolest shirt I've ever bought. Did I say coolest? I meant "nerdiest".

Sold out, but they still have a bunch of other cool shirts left!
