The 1/9/2017 theme for Macro Mondays is Inspired By A Song, so I unholstered my .44 caliber Colt model 1873 Single Action Army revolver, aka the Peacemaker, and set it up for a photo shoot to commemorate an old favorite: "Pistol Packin' Mama." This image covers too much area to be a true macro, but it does fit well within the guidelines established by the group.

Sa taille imposante témoigne du style éclectique qui caractérise plusieurs des édifices du XIXe siècle en plus de réunir différents styles, allant du néogothique au néoclassique. Ses quatre clochers et son dôme central, achevés en 1887, dominent le paysage de la paroisse de Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. De nombreuses légendes, dont celle du diable bâtisseur, entourent la construction de cette cinquième église paroissiale. Son architecture, ses finis en trompe-l’oeil et son mobilier intérieur suscitent plus d’un commentaire de la part des visiteurs. Le maître-autel sculpté par François Baillargé en 1802 est un vrai chef-d'œuvre.

I'm not a big fan of war gaming but one of my sons digitally designs these game pieces, 3D prints them and then they get painted and used in various war gaming board games. Meet Pistol Shrimp, he measures app, 3 1/2 in. tall X 3 1/2 in. wide x 3 1/2 inches deep.

Early morning light playing on Suilven , Canisp Quinag and the Assynt landscape. I could sit and watch this interplay every morning. Pistol of Fire by Kings of Leon has some relevance to these burning patch sod sunlight.
Just a quickie pistol with extended barrel and underbarrel shotgun.
Not a great detailed thing, but it's clearer in the lightbox anyway, kinda grubby on here for some reason.
This is a 1951 shot of my dad shooting my Hi Standard .22. And, yes, even though I was 17, that was my pistol he's shooting. Actually, dad had never had a gun in his hands in his life until he and my mother got me my first .22 rifle for my 10th Christmas in 1944. Note that he's shooting with one hand, instead of the two-handed Weaver stance most pistol shooters use today. Back then, it would have been a sacrilege to use two hands to shoot a hand gun, but then times do change.
Most of my friends owned a .22 and/or shotgun for hunting, and I even brought my target rifle to school with me and stored it in my locker because I was on the high school rifle team in Springfield, Massachusetts. Yet, with so many guns, so easily purchased, there were no mass shootings of any kind, and homicides were much rarer than they are today. As I said, times do change.
