The ACWM=CWM as they teach in schools. As the nest grew so did the tilt increase and the need to build up the outer edge. The bird handled the situation very well. I wonder if the requirement for a horizontal rim is genetically determined or a matter of conscious thought?
A large amount of current from a car battery is put through a small wire and iron filings are sprinkled around it, showing the magnetic field produced by the current.

One of the last images of Teylers Museum, I promise. This is the other side of the electrostatic generator. One of my viewers was kind enough to explain this beast of a gadget with one of the previous images. Click here if you're interested. (I used to be crap at physics in secondary school... So much so that when I did once manage to get a good grade on a test, the teacher even wrote a comment on my paper saying 'you might turn into a physics expert one day!')
I noticed Teylers Museum is very active on Twitter, which I am too after finding out it is a great source of real life information! They have also found my images of my visit to the museum. Modern technology can be so cool ;-)
LMS location NE corner, upper floor. My seat was the one closest to the camera. You could watch lads playing tennis on the north drive court from here, which I never ever did. One 1970s day Fanny Hilton was giving a my class a lesson here when without any explanation he suddenly walked out, and never came back. Ever. I hope is OK.

Ten years after it ceased taking data at Brookhaven, the muon g-2 storage ring embarks on a cross-country journey from the woods of Long Island to the plains near Chicago, where scientists at Fermilab will re-fill its storage ring with muons created at Fermilab’s Antiproton Source.
While most of the machine can be disassembled and brought to Fermilab in trucks, the massive electromagnet must be transported in one piece. It cannot tilt or twist more than a few degrees, or the complex wiring inside will be irreparably damaged. The Muon g-2 team devised a plan to make the 3,200-mile journey that involves loading the ring onto a specially prepared barge and bringing it down the East Coast, around the tip of Florida and up the Mississippi River to Illinois.
