Lothar is the name of a low-pressure system that resulted in a violent extratropical cyclone sweeping across Central Europe on December 26, 1999, causing major damage in France, southern Germany, and Switzerland. Wind speeds reached around 150 km/h in lower areas and more than 250 km/h on some mountains. Besides buildings and infrastructure, forests, such as the Black Forest in Germany, suffered major damage resulting in substantial economic loss.

The old City Hall of Gouda at the market - built between 1448 and 1450, one of the oldest Gothic city halls in the Netherlands. 15th December is Candle Night where almost every window gets lit up with Candles. It is a very nice evening where people come from far to enjoy and sing along the Christmas carols. The Tree is also officially lit that night.

I was a bit too early and could not get there later because of the crowd so it had to be a photo from the distance.

see the textures up large!

woke up and did that sunrise shoot at the Delicate Arch area the other day here

I stayed close to home tonight and took a walk down to check out the Friday night scene in Hermosa Beach; the town where I live in southern California.

There is a club there, Cafe Boogaloo that usually has some pretty good live music most Friday and Saturday nights and I thought I might have a chance to shoot the band or catch a good street portrait.

As I walked up to the club I immediately noticed this sharp-dressed man standing on the sidewalk, talking to one of the doormen. I stood around for no more than a minute when I asked him how he was doing and he answered back: "Just fine; how are you?"

"I'm OK, thanks. Would you mind if I took your picture?", I replied. "No", he said; "Not at all".

I asked him his name and he said it was Fred and so I introduced myself and we shook hands.

As I started to move so as to position him with his back towards the street, I asked him where he was from and he said that he was from Arkansas and that he had been out here since 1954. "The year I was born", I told him.

So we talked a bit more and I asked if he was here for the music. Yes, he told me. He liked to come down and dance with the ladies, so that "... I can show them a good time for the evenings".

At that I gave Fred a quick nod of understanding and asked him; "What else is there"? "Nothing", he smiled with his reply.

With that I stepped back and took this shot and knew that no matter what else I might see the rest of the night that todays 365 image was in the camera.

ty cyn for the pose and reminding me of this song <3

www.youtube.com/watch?v=but3fS8G2HQ

Mmmmm

There's so much craziness, surrounding me

There's so much going on, it gets hard to breathe

When all my faith has gone, you bring it back to me

You make it real for me

When I'm not sure of, my priorities

When I've lost site of, where I'm meant to be

Like holy water, washing over me

You make it real for me

And I'm running to you baby

You are the only one who saved me

That's why I've been missing you lately

Cause you make it real for me

When my head is strong, but my heart is weak

I'm full of arrogance, and uncertainty

But I can find the words, you teach my heart to speak

You make it real for meee, yeaaa

And I'm running to you baby

Cause you are the only one who saved me

That's whyyy I've been missing you lately

Cause you make it real for me

Ohhh

Everybodies talking in words

I don't understand

You got to be the only one

Who knows just who I am

Your shinin in the distance

I hope I can make it through

Cause the only place

That I want to be

Is right back home with you

I guess there's so much more

I have to learn

But if you're here with me

I know which way to turn

You always give me somewhere,

Somewhere I can learn

You make it real for me

And I'm running to you baby

Cause you are the only one who saved me

That's why I've been missing you lately

Cause you make it real for me

You make it real for me

OH SNAP!

My back has been hurting real bad since yesterday morning during church. So, today I went to the chiropractor and got it fixed. haha. It still hurts a little.. but not too bad. I was supposed to do a shoot with Devon and Christian at the Paramount Art Center in Ashland, Ky. But I told them I could not because of my back. To my surprise, they were at my house when I got home from the chiropractor. So, we did a shoot in my room. It was fun times. I'm still really pumped about shooting at the Paramount though. We're hoping to sometime next week. =]

Sometimes it's just so intoxicating.

Today wasn't a day to take a good 365. As you can see, homework has been consuming my life. I slaved most of my day over a textbook. I hate it. Not the material its self, although that at times is completely daunting. But the massive amounts of it that I have.

It snowed all day, and I was just aching to get outside with my camera. But I have this thing, called a mother, who makes sure that I have all of my priorities in order 24/7, even if it means I'm killing the potential of a good shoot. Oh well. Hopefully soon.

I made spicy soup today. Everyone else in my family thought it was really spicy, but I didn't think it was bad at all.

I really liked how I could feel the heat of all the spices in my inner ear canal. I guess that's how hot it was.

This is a different kind of a self portrait. Day 52. Goodness.
