I'll be fine. I always am.

I’m going to be taking another break from Flickr. I need to put my head on straight, and this site is only distracting me from that right now. I need to start taking care of my health (which has been suffering lately) and well-being, and I need to start paying attention to school, at least until this semester is over. I'm okay, trust me, but this is just not good for me right now, if I want to keep my grades up, as well as my own personal happiness.

I know, I know I take breaks almost constantly, and I always say the same thing, but I’m going to try to stick to it right now, at least for a little while. As always, I will still be coming onto Flickr occasionally to follow your streams, but I have to stay away as much as I can right now, for various reasons. I will be back soon.

TTFN.

So today was my second day in Edinburgh, still getting used to this whole driving on the left side rule. Quite odd to get used too especially when you see little old ladies driving down the street and you think to yourself "NOBODIES DRIVING THAT CAR!!!" But I do have to say the round-abouts are quite nice keeps traffic moving and they are a bit fun to drive around.

So this is the window in my room and I was thinking it would be a great location for a photo. I almost used it last night but then decided I wanted some daylight for it. So I took this!

Tomorrow we head up to Loch Ness and I sure hope the Loch Ness Monster makes an appearance cause it would be quite swell to take a photo of it. Maybe even hop in and take my 365 with it! haha.

Anyhow hope your doing well or whomever read this far! :)

( www.planespotters.net/airframe/mcdonnell-douglas-md-82-lz... )

Sam przewoźnik do stycznia 2021 nosił nazwę Bułgarian Air Charter, jest spółką akcyjną z siedzibą w Sofii, założoną 22 lata temu (2000 rok). European Air Charter współpracuje z wiodącymi europejskimi touroperatorami, m.in. jak TUI, DER Touristik/Exim, Coral Travel Poland, FTI.

I keep on fear, keep on loathing

Nothing brings it on I keep on falling

Decide what it is I can not find

It's subsides what you make it

Never feel like you're gonna break it

It's gonna be alright alright

Sleep until the morning comes

The sun will warm your soul

Sleep until the morning comes for you

Til the morning

it's alright

I can walk into the sunlight, into the day,

I feel it falling, nothing comes to my mind

Bring it on in a different tide

I feel alright, alright

I feel strong, i feel rigid

It's nothing to do with the vision

Oh feels so right, so right

Sleep on tight, sleep on tight

Sleep until the sunlight

Sleep on tight, til the sunlight burns you happy

Til the sunlight burns you happy, till the sunlight burns a happy whole in

Your heart,

In your heart

In your heart...

The Cistercian monastery Vyšší Brod (German Hohenfurth monastery) is located in the same village in the district Vyšší Brod Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1259 and is 750 years since a spiritual and cultural center of southern Bohemia.

Since the monastery and the small lake are surrounded of a two meter high fence, I had to climb a venture to make at all from one location this photo.

What:

Part 3 of the Peggy's Cove tour, Finally!!

When:

Just as the sun was setting last Sunday evening. About 5 minutes before the last shot I posted.

Where:

Peggy's Cove

Nova Scotia, Canada

About:

So, continuing from part 2... this was taken from exactly the same spot on the dock in PC but I turned about 45 degrees to right. So if I can manage to stitch these three shots together I shot be able to get over 180 degree view of the cove. I don't really have any shots looking behind where I am here but it certainly isn't as picturesque as these three views. To get another angle or perspective of where I am here, check out this photo from last week where I put a note right on this dock. It was shot from the road down at the end of the cove. You can see the little dory there if you look really close.

Processing:

This was shot with the normal 3 frames bracketed (0,-2,+2ev) and I manually blended the exposures in photoshop so I could get the proper sky combined with the proper foreground exposures. I did a layer of curves and a little tweak of the shadows/highlights. After resizing and posting I can see it's over saturated but what the hell, it's meant to look like a postcard! :-)

Please, no invites or crazy glittery graphics. Just a comment is nice. Thank You

Taken about 50 yards away from where the swan is in the water. The fence on the left is the canal lock and just below that is where the swan was sunning his self. It's a lovely walk along the old towpath which could turn into a nine and a half mile hike which would take you all the way to the River Derwent.

Restoration of the canal began in 1971 and is still ongoing with a section being designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest - and consequently, all restoration and activity has to be by agreement between British Waterways and Natural England.

So basically it will be done right....................

Marienplatz U-Bahn Station, Munich, Germany

In complete contrast to the previous station but still just as bold, they love their bold colours on their underground system in Munich and I think they are awesome!

This is probably one of the busiest U-Bahn stations on the Munich Metro as its a busy interchange and serves the city centre so I had to be very quick in getting the photo I wanted without people in. I actually quite like the discarded newspaper you see in the photo, gives the image a slight '28 Days Later' feel about it.

I think the only orange like this that I can think of that is on our London Underground network is at Bond Street unless I am mistaken (please tell me if I am) but this whole station is completely orange.

Apologies to those who are a bit lost off with the title of this image or it has become lost in translation somewhere. I have named this image after an advert that aired in the early 1990s here in the UK for a popular orange soft drink called 'Tango'. It was a very funny advert and well worth a watch again if you get chance (I have provided you with the link below). All this orange just reminded me of this advert from when I was a kid.

Location Information

München Marienplatz is an important stop on the Munich S-Bahn and U-Bahn network, located under the square of the same name in Munich's city centre. The S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S6, S7 and S8 intersect with the U-Bahn lines U3 and U6. The station is one of the most frequently used stations in the network, with up to 24,400 people transferring and 8,000 passengers entering or exiting each hour. In 2007, 175,400 used the station daily on weekdays, including entries, exits and transfers.

In October 1966 construction was started, finishing in October 1971 as part of the new S-Bahn network for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Until early 2003 there were almost no further refurbishments done at the station. From 2003 to 2006, the platforms of the U-Bahn were widened to expand passenger capacity and were lifted by 4 cm to secure same-level boarding.

Under the Zweite Stammstrecke ("Second main line") tunnel project, Marienplatz station is to be connected to a second station further north, Marienhof, via the enlarged subway access tunnels on the fourth level.

In case you haven't caught on to what's happening, I taped the fortune from my crappy fortune cookie to the mirror, and then made an attempt to get macro-esque with it. Just trying something new. Actually, I didn't even eat Chinese last night... wasn't even supposed to be my cookie, but if it's sitting on the kitchen counter, you snooze you lose, ha.

Since uploading this, it means I'm officially caught up from posting backlog which is a wonderful, wonderful thing and a great feeling. Over the past two days, I've been watching videos my contacts have posted in the Hi, I'm... group. Just have to say they are amazing, and Flickr really is a great community. Some people outside of the Flickr world don't seem understand, but you guys really are great friends and just awesome people, who have great personalities that take fabulous photos.

Puis, on attend !

Interesting thing with the kingfisher is that it lives within a relatively limited area (1 km). Once spotted, just come post quietly and wait. The wait can be quite long (I happened to wait 3 hours to see it 30 seconds). But often it came back and landed on a perch.

Here, after my first visit, I installed this perch, to force it to land at the place that best suits (distance and exposure to light).

Then you wait! And bingo, it comes. With a little practice, you can memorize the song and guess before it lands on the perch. I put here a link to the song of the kingfisher : www.oiseaux.net/chant/alcedo_atthis.mp3

San Diego (pronounced /ˌsæn diːˈeɪɡoʊ/), named after Saint Didacus (Spanish: Diego de Alcalá), is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest city in California, after Los Angeles, with a population of 1,306,300 (Jan 2010) within its administrative limits on a land area of 372.1 square miles (963.7 km2). The city is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California. The urban area of San Diego extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of 2,880,000. San Diego is also the county seat of San Diego County[2], the 5th largest county, by population, in the United States.

The city is the economic center of the San Diego–Carlsbad–San Marcos Metropolitan Area considered congruent with the county. The city was rated the fifth-best place to live in the United States in 2006 by Money magazine.[3] According to Forbes magazine, San Diego is the fifth-wealthiest city in the United States and the 9th safest city in the top 10 list of safest cities in the U.S.[4] San Diego's top four industries are manufacturing, defense, tourism, and agriculture.[5] San Diego's economy is largely composed of agriculture, biotechnology/biosciences, computer sciences, electronics manufacturing, defense-related manufacturing, financial and business services, ship repair, ship construction, software development, telecommunications, wireless research, and tourism. The presence of the University of California, San Diego, (UCSD) with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center promotes research in biotechnology.[6] San Diego is also designated as an iHub Innovation Center by Gov. Schwarzenegger’s Office of Economic Development.[7][8]

The housefly (also house fly, house-fly or common housefly), Musca domestica, is the most common of all flies flying in homes, and indeed one of the most widely distributed insects; it is often considered a pest that can carry serious diseases. Each female fly can lay approximately 500 eggs in several batches of about 75 to 150, eggs [1]. The eggs are white and are about 1.2 mm in length. Within a day, larvae (maggots) hatch from the eggs; they live and feed in (usually dead and decaying) organic material, such as garbage or faeces. The flies depend on warm temperatures; generally, the warmer the temperature the faster the flies will develop. In winter, most of them survive in the larval or the pupa stage in some protected warm location.

The average lifespan of an adult housefly is approximately 15 to 25 days.

_____________________________________________________________________

108/365 - Tears And Rain - James Blunt

Bad weather over France this days, it rained all day so we had to deal with.

I had really no idea for today's shot so we went to town with Loic.

Today is something new, something different, maybe more poetic and abstract.

Don't know what to think about but I kind like this shot.

I've been tagged by Lisa yesterday, thanks to her, so here is ten things about me :

1 - I love to hang out barefoot, I love to wear just a short, I love when it's warm and sunny.

2 - Kelly Slater is a very inspiring person for me.

3 - I'm in love with Tristan Prettyman and Katie Melua, just love their music.

4 - I love to travel, I'm lucky I've seen various places and countries, I can't wait to travel to Australia one day.

5 - I quit sport and focus on photography after a motorbike accident that took me 4 surgeries on my right knee to recover

6 - I don't like to run but I like to swim... that's maybe not surprising !

7 - I smoke too much, I decided to stop smoking until the end of 2010...

8 - My brother has always been inspiring for me, I may have try close to everything he did

9 - I was scared to see what's under the surface until I dive with sharks last year

10 - I would love to know how to play guitare, I try, but I've to admit I'm really bad at it !

So I'm going to tag 10 contacts that I like to check their stream and they'll do this 10 stuff if they want !

When the night shows

the signals grow on radios

All the strange things

they come and go, as early warnings

Stranded starfish have no place to hide

still waiting for the swollen Easter tide

There's no point in direction we cannot

even choose a side.

I took the old track

the hollow shoulder, across the waters

On the tall cliffs

they were getting older, sons and daughters

The jaded underworld was riding high

Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky

and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain

was warm and soaked the crowd.

Jeita Grotto is a compound two separate but interconnected limestone caves. The caves are situated in the Nahr al-Kalb valley. Jeita accommodates two crystallized grottoes with natural sculptural beauty with rock formations that seem to glow in the dark.

This rare and marvelous natural wonder features a lower cave where the visitor can take a short dreamy cruise on a rowboat for a distance of approximately 450 meters of the 6200 meters from the explored part of the site.

In 1958, Lebanese speleologists discovered the upper galleries 60 metres above the lower cave which have been accommodated with an access tunnel and a series of walkways to enable tourists’ safe access without disturbing the natural landscape. The upper galleries house the world’s largest stalactite. The upper cave contains a great concentration of a variety of crystallized formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, columns.

The Jeita caves have formed over millions of years due to the dissolution of limestone. The limestone is dissolved by carbonic acid charged rain water and groundwater. It is the longest cave complex in the Middle East.

Photography inside the caves is banned. The visitors have to leave their cameras and mobile phones outside before entering the caves. The Jeita Grotto is one of the finalist candidate for the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition.

Life is too short not to live it to the fullest.

When do you actually just get to live life?

You are born. One, two years later and you are already getting prepared for day care, nursery school, followed by pre-school which only prepares you for kindergarten.

Kindergarten only teaches you to be a first grader, and eventually a second grader, who’s only purpose is to get you prepared for third grade and so on, which only makes sure you are ready for middle school.

When middle school comes around you are only getting prepped for high school, in which there are exams to qualify you for college.

College. Finally leaving home for the big world out there. But the reason you go lays on the fact that you want a job.

However a job only prepares you to save up money for when you are older, having a possible family.

Suddenly you realize you are considered a elderly grand parent as your children go away to school. After preparing your children for the world, they are off, to learn things of their own, and you are suddenly planning for when they become your age.

And then, just like that, life comes and sweeps you off your feet, and you ask yourself: where did my life go; when did I simply get to just live...

for my new favorite group ever: Musically Challenged.

i loved taking the photo prior to this. actually grabbing inspiration from a specific song, singling out a lyric or two, and then creating an image to be paired with it.

this photo, though, was not intended for any song. this image is one of my favorite ones from Seattle. it's in Pike Place Market. this gorgeous, sloped, cobblestone street that leads down to an even more interesting alley.

so i selected a song amidst the ten to choose from per week and matched the song to the photo. not as gratifying, but i miss this little cobblestone street, dammit!

Hello darkness, my old friend

I've come to talk with you again

Because a vision softly creeping

Left its seeds while I was sleeping

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone

Narrow streets of cobblestone

'Neath the halo of a street lamp

I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

That split the night

And touched the sound of silence

Final [4 of 4] of a short 'Mood' street series. [Or, just another excuse to play around with post processing techniques! : ) ] All these shots were taken in a 2-3 minute walk up the high street, and all shots were taken with my camera at chest level. [That is, making no real attempt to hide the camera, but making eye contact with people, while holding the camera in an obvious/suspicious way.]

Impressive, atmospheric, just a little frightening, the long black and red hooded and robed figures of the Procession de la Sanch march slowly through the streets of Perpignan to the solemn beat of black veiled tambourines The Procession de la Sanch, which takes place every ’Vendredi Saint’, (Good Friday), opens the celebration of the Easter Holy week.

The brotherhood of “La Sanch” (the blood) was founded in1416 by Vincent Ferrier at the church of St Jaques in Perpignan, its origin to assist and accompany the condemned to their execution. A preacher, Ferrier is said to have undergone a life changing experience in 1398 when he nearly died of the fever, but was miraculously cured after Christ appeared to him in an apparition. He attracted followers, penitents from all walks of life, who he led around Europe, preaching penance and helping sinners to prepare for judgment and punishment. The wearing of the black and red hooded robes (orcaparutxe) was to prevent criminals being recognized and ‘lynched’ in the streets as pay back for crimes committed, and prisoners, penitents, (there to give solace to the person about to die), and executioner were hooded for maximum confusion.

The procession as a whole commemorates the Passion and the Agony of Christ. At the head of the parade walks a red robed figure “le regidor”, warning the crowds of the procession’s approach. by intermittently ringing an iron bell as he leads the penitents to the gallows. They carry ‘misteris’ (full-size representations of the different scenes of the Passion) through the streets of Perpignan. Of course, over the years the Sanch has become a great crowd puller and a fabulous photo opportunity but for the ‘penitents’ carrying crosses, crucifixes and religious statues weighing up to thirty to fifty kilos, this re- enactment of Christ’s Passion is real enough. The procession takes place in silence – some walk bare-foot, others are on their knees…... only the sound of the tambourine, and the occasional peal of the bell breaks the eerie atmosphere, along with the Goigs, traditional Easter songs which accompany the march.

Over the centuries the Sanch has been forbidden several times. It has always survived.

Out of Walmart and it was snowing to my surprise. Walmart is a cesspool of a merchant retailer serving the masses. I don't like being there. So it was time to get out while the getting was good. I made a decision to drop off my dad and go take a picture.

peace all around us

peace within us

ENGLISH

... I published my first photo in Flickr. One was gulls in the border of a channel of Amsterdam, and I did it as always had made the photos, without thinking about: frame & shoot.

Concepts like composition, vanishing point, depth of field… they was Greek for me. Little by little I was knowing people and seeing their photos, and with this I discovered techniques like the HDR, Orton, tilt-shift, cut-out… and what meant those concepts that was Greek for me. I began to crop, to adjust levels, to play with “the constructive” adjustment of photos, in which without altering the composition it could give another air to them… I discovered the beauty of black and white and the nostalgic air of the old photography. In addition now I can imagine the photographies before to shoot them. I imagine the framing, the values of exposure and diaphragm… even what treatment I will give them later.

In summary, in this year I have learned many things of photography, and what is more important still, I have known a lot of people, magnificent photographers of all around the world to whom I admire and I envy their work, and simultaneously moves to me when they say that they like some photo mine.

Now beginning a new year in Flickr, and I do not think to let learn new things and experiment with them. Good proof of it is this reedition of my first photo, to that I have applied to a HDR and Fattal tone mapping, and then “draganized”. I already know that “draganized” goes better with portraits in first plane and well illuminated, but I wanted to prove it here, and I have liked the result. I hope that to you too, and if no, let me know.

Since you see, also I have changed my buddy icon and my name. I am not very friend to be changing of name, but I only signed in Flickr to organize my photos and to show them of a simple way to family and friends, and smb_flickr was “an accidental” name. What I did not know that it go to become so popular (I look for it in Google and it appears 57,200 times) and I take advantage of the anniversary to be more serious. ;-)

Thanks to visit and to comment my photos. It serves me to learn and to improve.

CASTELLANO

Gracias por visitar y comentar mis fotos. Me sirve para aprender y mejorar.

Emotions are something very sensitive, it differs from person to person. How they react to a situation and how they emote to a situation is something very personal to them. Some times we don't get hurt even after some swearing from our friends, but get hurt even when we see some one smiling at us when we are down. Such is the power of emotions, but how many times do you feel you have emoted the way you wanted to be? When we were kids our emotions were spontaneous, we just behaved the way we thought. It was much simple when we were like that, but once the maturity factor started creeping into us, we made this wonderful and simple thing more complicated. Yeah we tried really hard and stopped being spontaneous. We started emoting according to our surroundings, we wanted to show we are more intelligent and decent by emoting according to the person in front and stopped responding to the real us. We also know when we can camouflage our emotions then others can do it too and this has taken away the factor called belief in between everyone. We feel everyone is acting in front of us and so we should do the same too, doing this slowly we too follow what we hated initially. Lets try to be truthful to our emotions at least in front of someone who we really love, yeah its going to be difficult to accommodate after all our acting classes, but lets at least give it a try. Thanks for all your visits, comments and favs

Sincerest Critic of my Prose or Rhyme,

Tell how thy pleasing Stowe employs thy Time.

Say, Cobham, what amuses thy Retreat,

Or Schemes of War, or Stratagems of State?

Dost thou recall to Mind with Joy or Grief

Great Marlborough's Actions, that immortal Chief,

Whose slightest Trophy raised in each Campaign

More than sufficed to signalise a Reign?

Does the Remembrance, rising, warm thy Heart

With Glory past, where Thou thyself hadst Part,

Or dost thou grieve indignant, now, to see

The fruitless End of all that Victory?

To see the Audacious Foe, so late subdued,

Dispute those Terms for which so long they sued,

As if Britannia now were sunk so low,

To beg that Peace she wonted to bestow.

Be far that Guilt, be never known such Shame,

That England should retract her rightful Claim,

Or, ceasing to be dreaded and adored,

Stain with the Pen the Lustre of her Sword!

Or dost thou give the Winds afar to blow

Each vexing Thought and Heart-devouring Woe,

And fix thy Mind alone on rural Scenes,

To turn the levelled Lawns to liquid Plains,

To raise the creeping Rills from humble Beds,

And force the latent Springs to lift their Heads,

On watery Columns Capitals to rear

That mix their flowing Curls with upper air?

Or dost Thou, weary grown, these Works neglect,

No Temples, Statues, Obelisks erect,

But seek the morning Breeze from fragrant Meads,

Or shun the Noontide Ray in wholesome Shades,

Or slowly walk alone the mazy Wood,

To meditate on all that's wise and good?

For Nature, bountiful, in Thee has joined

A Person pleasing with a worthy Mind,

Not given the Form alone, but Means and Art

To draw the Eye or to allure the Heart.

Poor were the Praise in Fortune to excel,

Yet want the Way to use that Fortune well.

While thus adorned, while thus with Virtue crowned,

At Home in Peace, Abroad in Arms renowned,

Graceful in Form and winning in Address,

While well you think what aptly you express,

With Health, with Honour, with a fair Estate,

A Table free, and elegantly neat,

What can be added more to mortal Bliss?

What can he want who stands possessed of This?

What can the fondest wishing Mother more

Of Heaven attentive for her Son implore?

And yet a Happiness remains unknown,

Or to Philosophy revealed alone;

A Precept, which unpracticed renders vain

Thy flowing Hopes, and Pleasure turns to Pain.

Should Hope and Fear thy Heart alternate tear,

Or Love, or Hate, or Rage, or anxious Care,

Whatever Passions may thy Mind infest,

(Where is that Mind which passions ne'er molest?)

Amid the Pangs of such intestine Strife,

Still think the Present Day thy Last of Life;

Defer not till to-Morrow to be wise,

To-Morow's Sun to Thee may never rise.

Or should to-Morrow chance to cheer thy Sight

With her enlivening and unlooked-for Light,

How grateful will appear her dawning Rays,

As Favours unexpected doubly please!

Who thus can think and who such Thoughts pursues,

Content may keep his Life, or calmly lose;

A Proof of this Thou mayest thyself receive,

When Leisure from Affairs will give thee Leave.

Come, see thy Friend, retired without Regret,

Forgetting Cares, or trying to forget;

In easy Contemplation soothing Time

With Morals much, and now and then with Rhyme;

Not so robust in Body as in Mind,

And always undejected, though declined;

Not wondering at the World's new wicked Ways,

Compared with those of our Forefathers' Days;

For Virtue now is neither more or less,

And Vice is only varied in the Dress.

Believe it, Men have ever been the same,

And all the Golden Age is but a Dream.

Hohensalzburg Castle (Festung Hohensalzburg) is a castle in the Austrian city of Salzburg. It sits on Festungsberg hill. With a length of 250 meters and a width of 150 meters, it is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe.

This is again from my archives a single RAW file tonemapped and digitally blended using Photoshop.

Trivia

During the early 20th century it was used as a prison, holding Italian prisoners of war during World War I and Nazi activists (before the Anschluss with Germany) in the 1930s. It was refurbished in the 20th century and became a major tourist attraction, with a cable car, built in 1900, leading up from the town to the Hasengrabenbastei. It stands today as one of the best preserved castles in Europe. Source: Wikipedia
