NOTE: Ranked #176 in interestingness (on 2007-10-11). Thanx to everyone for their support!!

NOTE 2: I know that I seem like an HDR freak (which I AM), but this is NOT HDR btw...!! It's mere playing around with RAW format

While cruising doing some mashaweer, I stopped by to take this long shot (30 seconds exposure).

I hanged my Gorillapod SLR on the metal fence and did my thing. Using this toy turns anything (repeat: anything) as a tripod!! A true life saver.

Seconds later, I was surrounded with some low ranked policemen (3asaker). But I was smart. Before going there and while I was parking the car a few meters away, there was a soll (a higher ranked policeman) that I asked for his permission because of the sensitivity of the location (it's near our presidents home in Heliopolis and I knew they would notice me) and he said "etfadal ya basha" (I am starting to love this sentence)

I merged 2x30 secs exposured RAW images to give more light on the right hand side (the traffic was moving much slower compared to the left side) then took it to my good old Lightroom to treat the colors in an appealing way.

Hope you like it.

AHH. It's winter. I did not expect it to come this quickly! It's been so cold, so I'm hiding in scarves, and Skyrim. It's crazy, I went outside to take a picture, and had to run inside and get a scarf and warmer jacket.

This happened.

My hair is also a really light blue, now, I loove it! I might try to put a baby-blue dye over it, though. :3

Also, the texture I put over it was a picture of sparkling snow, that I took when it snowed for two weeks last winter~ <3

Also, Kaskade's album "Fire & Ice" is amazing. So, listen to this.

I have a certain amount of indecision with this one, texture/no texture, green tones/brown tones.....bah.

I just need to post the darn thing...haha.

I want to link to all the stock images here, but frankly, there are at least a dozen of them and maybe when I have a moment to dig them out and pass them along I will....the point is - they were all free and I didn't infringe anything.

window, fairy, fairy, fairy, night, mouse, mouse

I actually sort of grossed myself out looking through pages and pages of bugs and rodents to find them...gave myself the creeps...lol.

As for me, that was easy since I'd just gotten out of bed anyway...easy to plop back in. ;-)

Ah well, my coffee's gone cold and I suppose it is time to get productive...hee hee. happy Monday, all!

Have a great one.

Random Fact du jour: I actually went through a rather 'girly' stage about 11 years ago, and I, in fact, collected fairy things. I was obsessed with Amy Brown and Jessica Galbreth. I choose that as the defining cause behind my sock addiction...all those stripey-legged fairies just permeated my brain.

I was just accused of stealing. My bird mosaic I did for impressed beauty had a comment from this person www.flickr.com/photos/fret/ Now the reason I am doing this is because I do not nor have I ever stolen. I am very proud of my work and I love what I do. I will not go hide in a corner while some A$@hole accuses me of stealing. I really loath nasty people. Go ahead keep accusing me....my challenge to you is PROVE IT!!! THIS IS MY WORK AND ONLY MY WORK~

Keane - Everybody's Changing

Seguirlo es, para mí, una manera de decir;

caminemos juntos.

Soñarlo es para mí una manera de decir;

O no debería importar.

This is the longest of 3 canal tunnels. It is around 1 km and does not have a footpath - so this girl looking. I was told that you can see the other end. But i was on the wrong side. Also it happened that the majority of this walk were shoot by 50 mm which is not ideal for scenery.

Also i am amazed how little information about the Regent canal is available around - i mean history, pictures, walking guides, current development. I've seen only 1 book on Amazon. It goes through such a vibrant number of areas. And it has been there since 1820.

I found that much however about Islington tunnel

As many of you know I love Castle building, it's so easy to pack in detail with that theme, which is why it's one of my favourite things to do when building. So Castle and Marvel in the one vig? Why not! I've had the Doom figure lying around since I bought the set it came in, so what's that... 2013? Man 5 years now. Anyway yes super glad I finally got to use this figure in a MOC. For me collecting figs is fun, it's nice to have them sure, but it's only worth it when I can put them in a MOC. So I used this MOC as a way to display some other figs that I have yet to come up with concepts for MOC's to put them in. The Sentry figure is from bigkidbrix, if you are wondering ;)

But yeah, love building throne rooms like this, makes me want to do more, it was great fun to combine two of my favourite themes in the one vig like this. Would love to do it again!

We attended a landscape photo workshop yesterday (Sunday). Not too close - 4hr drive to location in South Moravia, Czech Rep. so we had to wake up at 4am and got back home too tired around 11pm. But it was so worth it. Location was stunning and well known by the pro photographer who was leading the workshop. And he even managed to secure ideal weather somehow LOL. Area was full of rolling hills that are used for agriculture so the fields were vibrant and varied. Sky was nice and blue almost all day with those puffy white clouds moving very fast in the strong wind and that resulted in an amazing light&shadow show on the fields.

At one moment I spotted a triangle illuminated in the sea of shadows so I immediately turned the ball head on my tripod, prefocused manually, adjusted polarizer & 1-stop hard edge grad filter, set the exposure and fired. Post process included only the adjustment of the levels to achieve better contrast, tiny bit of saturation and square crop.

Didn't have time to play with all the photos yet but this one is my personal winner - at least I think so ;) Anyways... expect more photos soon.

Thanks for looking!

Your feedback is always appreciated ;)

Brighter Days by Leeland

Brighter Days

Time keeps moving on

Through the sunshine and the storm

And my dreams are set in stone

And someday I’ll be who I want to be

For now I’ll wait

For the sun to shine again

And for now I’ll wait

For the rain to pass away

And I’m looking for the brighter days

When all my hurts seem to fade away

I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way

Faces come and faces go

But none seem to look my way

And walls have stood and walls have fallen

But my heart seems to wait

For now I’ll sit at the end of the road

And for now I’ll wait

At the end of the pathway

I’ll see the sun one day shine upon me

I’ll see the sun one day

And watch the nighttime turn to morning

But for now it all comes back around

It's been a very long day at work today, left the house at 7:30 this morning, got back at 9:30 tonight and have had a somewhat hectic time inbetween (productive though!) I'm quite surprised I managed to remember to take a photo of the day tonight with the little brain function I have left! LOL!

There is (as often the case!) a bit of a story here. Some of the older children at school were selling flowers this evening as part of their enterprise project. When I left to come home there was just one sad and lonely and very wilted gerbera sitting in a bucket of water. It looked such a sad specimen I couldn't resist taking it home, giving it a trim and some water and then immortalising it with a photo! There's something quite satisfying about taking an ugly duckling and turning into a swan! ;-))

Anyway, the Gerbera has perked up and I'm waffling, I should really go to bed! Will catch up tomorrow! :-)

This was not my original idea, I had something planned out, and it would have really been something. but, it didn't work out. That's something that happens with me, i can never plan out a shot, i get too excited about it and it falls short. This time I just couldn't get past the NO TRESPASSING gate. but, I love this shot more than I think that original shot.

totw:: movie lines- from casablanca, but more so, from "As Time Goes By."

like my switch from yesterday's shot to this? haha from OMG scurry to aw flowers. heh

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m done.

And my oh my, that’s nice to say :) So I’ll now go through the typical 365 final shot description part…

I started flickr because someone told me about it and figured it would be a pretty good place to get some feedback on my photos other than my friends on myspace and facebook. I didn’t have much to use, and my stream was less than buzzing with comments. Then I found this group for a “One object 365 days project” and thought that would be pretty cool. Each day do something different with the same object. So I chose this little stuffed rat “Felix” and got pretty far, around day 23 I found FGR. Then little by little my “One object 365” dropped and I started doing more self portraits. Then, when I decided to do a Self Portrait 365 project I dropped my other project and started one Tuesday in August. The date meant nothing to me, and it doesn’t now. August 12th. It was just a day. Just a day that started this whole mess of amazingness. Just a day. But, I really think every time August 12th rolls around, I’m going to remember it was the start of something more awesome than I ever though possible.

I didn’t grow up knowing I wanted to work with art. I switched around with my “future plan” a lot. But I’d always loved to take pictures. I used to own a Polaroid and I would run out of film faster than we could buy it. Then I obviously went mad and sold it. Dumb. It wasn’t until high school that I realized that I belonged in some sort of art field. And it wasn’t until flickr that I knew it was photography. And, now, it’s switched again. I’ve fallen in love with theatrics. Theatrical makeup is where my heart is now. And I’ve got you all to thank for that. I used to play with my makeup in my mirror late at night. Trying to do what the makeup artists do in movies. Halloween soon became my favourite time of year because I could actually SHOW people what I did, without looking foolish.

I owe so much to this photo sharing site and this 365 project. It’s silly sounding, but it’s true. It has become a sort of therapy for me. I’ve let so much out with each picture I’ve posted. I’ve shared with you all more than I’ve shared with my family. I had no idea it would be so easy to tell you all everything that I have. My secrets, and quarks, random facts and tidbits. I suppose it’s because it’s just text on a screen rather than face to face.

I’ve met so many amazing people. Please, if I don’t include you personally, if you’ve followed me this far, know you mean a lot to me :) These are in no particular order.

-Abe.Oh Abe. I don’t even know what to start with. You’ve helped me so much more than anyone knows. When I was ready to give up you were there ready to pick me up. I’ve cried to you, and laughed with you. You’re an inspiration. Each day, each time you ABE a damn photo ;-) I am reminded how lucky I am.

-Liina. :) You, like your sweet hubby, have helped me so much. I hope one day, I’ll be able to meet you in person just to give you the hug you deserve. ♥

-Steven. I just can’t think of the words. You’re more amazing each day. I doubt you even know how much I look toward you. Each time you upload something it’s something new, something exciting, something beautiful. You’re one of the most amazing artists I’ve ever ‘met’ And hell, you’re funnier than most people in the world :)

-Erin and Ashley. You girls are freaking amazing. Everything you do. Erin with your film work, oy I just love you. :D and Ashley…you’re just the bees knees!!! Hehe. I love you girls. I know one day, when I move to LA we are going to have a road trip and have slumber parties and we’ll play with makeup and have pillow fights and prank call steven and vic :)

-Justin. My asian friend. Heh. You’ve been just one of the best contacts. You’re always so honest in your photography. And lets face it, you’re just awesome. Who else gives asian hugs? No one. Not like you. Hahaa

-Jenni. You were one of my first favourite on flickr. :) I think the first picture I saw of yours was “To Flickr with love”. I knew I had to follow you from what I saw. You’ve been the biggest inspiration here. Your art is just perfection, and you’re so natural at it. It looks like just another part of you. I’m completely envious of your ability to show so much in a photograph. From the simplest photographs to the most complex, I’m always amazed. Whenever I find myself in an idea slump I always find myself looking through all your photos and each time I’m amazed.

-Michelle. You’re my lovely, and I miss out note battles :)) you know you mean a lot. ♥♥

-Maite. Aw, maite mouse :) you’re like the cool aunt who buys me beer and sneaks me into bars. I look up to you. And your epic paleness ;-) Love you. Xoxo

-Carrie. You’re like the cool sister-in-law who drinks the beer with me Maite bought and dances in the club. You’re just wonderful. YOU’RE an angel sent down to make the world brighter ;-) I love you. xoxo

-Brookie. My skype buddy. You are just fucking amazing. You’re so real, that’s something I truly admire. You know what you want, and you’re doing anything to get it. I’m so proud to call you my friend. I wish I knew what else to write. You know how much you mean to me. You’ve been someone I can talk to about anything with. You’re an amazing person. A beautiful person. I hope you know that. ♥

And everyone else:: Hannah, Annick, Ellie, Tom, Julia, Jen, Vic, Joel, Charlie, Pete, Wendy, Tony, Rea, Dave, Martha, Paula, Kimmers, Pixie, Rich, Charlie, Ryan, Bex, Gooner, Flooz, Mike, Amanda and K. I love you all. I wish I could write to everyone. I know I’ve forgotten someone.

I know I’ve written a novel. But, I can’t help it. I just have to thank you all for following me through this crazy journey. Now I'm ready to start a new one.

NO not a year two. Not any time soon at least. but Something better. I've learned so much through this project. I've got to put it to use other than photographing myself everyday.

Thank you guys so much. for everything ♥

I wont disappear. I've got my 52 weeks. I'll be around watching your streams ;-)

I love you kids.

The Palace of Fine Arts was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, which was held in San Francisco. None of the buildings were meant to be permanent. However, the Palace of Fine Arts was so beautiful that it was not torn down after the fair. Miraculously, the palace survived the 1989 earthquake with little damage. The Beaux-Arts style structure features and dome and Roman-style curved colonnades. Surrounding the palace is a park with a duck pond. Adjacent to the palace is the San Francisco Exploratorium, which is a discovery museum with hands-on exhibits on science, art and human perception.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PALACE OF FINE ARTS:

"The Palace was not designed as 'a Valentine for San Francisco.' Maybeck visualized its colonnade streaming with people, finding a reward within the great doors."

The task of creating a Palace of Fine Arts for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition fell to the architect Bernard R. Maybeck, then fifty years old and known for his innovative ideas. Setting to work on this new project, he chose as his theme a Roman ruin, mutilated and overgrown, in the mood of a Piranesi engraving. But this ruin was not to exist solely for itself to show "the mortality of grandeur and the vanity of human wishes .... " Although it was meant to give delight by its exterior beauty, its purpose was also to offer all visitors a stimulating experience within doors.

In playing host to the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, The Fair, which opened on February 20, 1915, San Francisco was honoring the discovery of the Pacific Ocean and the completion of the Panama Canal; it was also celebrating its own resurrection after the shattering earthquake and fire of 1906.

The problems of choosing the exact site in the city had finally been overcome and groundwork had been going on for some time. Last of the buildings to be erected, on the lagoon and close by a group of Monterey cypresses, was Maybeck's Palace of Fine Arts. With its exhibition hall to house the work of living artists (dominated by the Impressionists), its colonnade, and its rotunda -- plans for all of which had dazzled the Commissioners when the huge brown-paper sketch was put before them -- it fulfilled the architect's dream: it was as beautiful reflected in the water as it was against the sky. And when the Palace was completed (Roman in style although a freely-interpreted, purely romantic conception, and Greek in decorative treatment) its exceptional harmony gave it instant appeal to the public.

So this Diorama spawned because of the last one I built. This was done simply because I felt the tiny diorama needed a friend. I had so much fun building the tank, I'm very proud of it! I actually totally forgot to put an Aayla Secura Figure in this Diorama (I currently have one on the way that I just bought, so it'll be here real soon and I'll post an updated photo of the MOC with her in it)

The tree design on this MOC was very different for me, used a lot of SNOT and Mixel Joints and I think the design is really cool, it needs to be played with more but I figured I'd test it in this built and expand on things later :)

Next up is another Bionicle, then another Clone Wars MOC, Just the one though, there won't be 'Five' of them, but they will 'Echo' some of my favourite episodes (WINK WINK)

I was absolutely in awe of the colors, shapes and textures that can be found at Mono Lake particularly in the early morning hours. I haven't been there at sunset but because of its orientation with the high Sierras to the west, my hunch is the sunrises are more spectacular and yield more interesting photo opportunities than sunset.

"The lake is two hundred feet deep, and its sluggish waters are so strong with alkali that if you only dip the most hopelessly soiled garment into them once or twice, and wring it out, it will be found as clean as if it had been through the ablest of washerwomen's hands."

a Natale puoi.

A Natale puoi

quanto ti voglio bene....

A Natale puoi.

Red-winged Blackbird

Present throughout Canada during the nesting period, the Red-winged Blackbird nests in all the southern regions of Quebec and the Maritimes, and increasingly spends its winters in the northern United States. It prefers to settle in open and humid places, such as ditches, reed mace marshes and stream or river banks, but will also nest in drier terrain, in pasture and cultivated fields. Its diet varies with the seasons, but it feeds mainly on insects and cultivated seeds, including corn. Besides, it is a menace for farmers who find their fields ravaged by this bird. But in spite of everything, it still does them some great services, such as attacking the insects that destroy their newly-planted crops. The Red-winged Blackbird reaches 19 to 26 cm in length.

The sky really seriously was that shade of blue over the mountains. I went for a walk with my family just after sunset, it was so beautiful! I have NEVER seen the clouds so blue before! And it didn't even rain. :)
