When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do
Is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue
When you're close to me, I can feel your heart beat
I can hear you breathing near my ear
Wouldn't you agree, baby you and me got a groovy kind of love
Anytime you want to you can turn me onto
Anything you want to, anytime at all
When I kiss your lips, ooh I start to shiver
Can't control the quivering inside
Wouldn't you agree, baby you and me got a groovy kind of love, oh
When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do
Is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue
When I'm in your arms, nothing seems to matter
My whole world could shatter, I don't care
Wouldn't you agree, baby you and me got a groovy kind of love
We got a groovy kind of love
We got a groovy kind of love, oh
We got a groovy kind of love
PHIL COLLINS "GROOVY KIND OF LOVE"

The sequel to my "Wheel of Complexion" image from the year prior. Thanks for checking this out. Enjoy!

"Through all of my life
In spite of all the pain
You know people are funny sometimes
'Cause they just can't wait
To get hurt again
Tell me, do you remember?
Do you remember?"...

Love that song..and not the right one for this shot, but I keep having it in my mind since yesterday so i thought I might liberate it.. :)
That's the last one of my fall-naturey crap series.......for now! muahaha (evil laugh) :D
Way back in 1980, from one of the Genesis concerts in Atlanta GA. The ticket cost was $8.50! Phil was always my favorite! Fantastic voice and drums! Photo taken with my Nikon film camera.

Thanks everyone for your comments and stories of the Genesis events you attended or maybe band members you met.
You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes

This was the best birthday present ever. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting since I got the tickets in July.
My little Canon point and shoot constantly fought the lights and dust/smoke floating through the air. I only got a few shots, but who cares.
Phil was fabulous and I mainly just watched and listened to him sing.
Phil Collins - One more night
One more night, one more night
I've been trying ooh so long to let you know
Let you know how I feel
And if I stumble if I fall, just help me back
So I can make you see
Please give me one more night, give me one more night
One more night cos I can't wait forever
Give me just one more night, oh just one more night
Oh one more night cos I can't wait forever
I've been sitting here so long
Wasting time, just staring at the phone
And I was wondering should I call you
Then I thought maybe you're not alone
Please give me one more night, give me just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Please give me one more night, ooh just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Give me one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Like a river to the sea
I will always be with you
And if you sail away
I will follow you
Give me one more night, give me just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
I know there'll never be a time you'll ever feel the same
And I know it's only words
But if you change your mind you know that I'll be here
And maybe we both can learn
Give me just one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Give me just one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever

Phil Collins’ 17 year old son, Nic, plays drums during this tour. The talent didn’t fall far from the tree in this case.
Nic is also the drummer for the band ‘Fifty Eight Hundred’.

Here’s the main dam and the home of my beavers on my wild river! They built three other dams principally to stabilize the level of the river!
Take me home… Phil Collins… live in Paris… a fabulous video… if you like the percussions… ufffffffff :)))
Another one from my recent snowy walk. This is Luxford House and is less than five minutes walk from my home.
Luxford House dates back to the 16th century and it has a modest claim to fame in the music world. In the 1960's and 70's it was let to Tony Stratton-Smith, the record producer, who used part of the property as a recording studio. Bands such as Van der Graaf Generator and Genesis used to practice there and the sleeve of Neil Diamond's "Stones" album shows him sitting in the gardens of the property. Other musicians such as Leonard Cohen, Bert Jansch, Bob Johnson and Mike Nesmith have all been in the studio. It is also mentioned in Phil Collins autobiography. I just liked the view of it in the snow.
More detailed pictures of the beautiful property can be seen from when it was recently up for sale at www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5107385/Tudor-Mansion-sa... I should mention that our house is not quite so grand.
This shot was taken from the snowy lane which leads to the pub....
'When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do, is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue' sang Phil Collins on his 1988 track 'A groovy kind of love'. It would seem this girl hasn't seen Phil in quite some time then. Given the somewhat derelict location where we deposited her it may be some time yet before she claps eyes on the great man.
As an aside I dearly hope putting those lyrics above has started an earworm for you. I know it has for me...
Cheers

On the penultimate night of their "The Final Domino?" tour, British prog-rock superstars Genesis rocked the O2 Arena in London in front of a near-capacity crowd of devotees (including me!). A well balanced set included favourites Firth of Fifth, Cinema Show, Carpet Crawlers, The Lamb Lies down on Broadway (Acoustic version), Dancing out with the Moonlit Knight counter-pointed by those massive hit singles - Invisible Touch, Land of Confusion, I Know What I like, Follow You Follow Me, I Can't Dance and classic album tracks Duchess, Mama, Duke's End, Domino, Home by the Sea / 2nd Home by the Sea and more.
Although it was rather sad to see Phil Collins having to sit down (following s spinal operation), his voice was on good form. Banks skipped bits from some of his parts and didn't crack a smile all night, but Rutherford was clearly enjoying himself together with Daryl Stuermer and young Nik Collins on the drum kit. Superb visuals and light show with more than 120 vari-lights (well, they did pioneer their use back in the 70s!) made for a great evening's entertainment.
Phil and Nic Collins at the piano. My favourite part of this shot........Phil’s cane lying on the piano.

A shot from Saturday's Genesis concert at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester, where I was fortunate enough to be sitting on the pitch area, thirteen rows from stage (pre-booking tickets is great when you know about it...not so good if you don't!).
The light show was spectacular (well, it was once it became dark enough for it to be effective), but given that Genesis had earlier played Live Earth on Saturday, perhaps they could have turned off a couple of the bulbs? Then again, maybe they planted a few trees with some of the profits from the (not cheap!) concert tickets? ;-)

All of my life, I've been searching
For the words to say how I feel.
I'd spend my time thinking too much
And leave too little to say what I mean
I've tried to understand the best I can
All of my life...
How can I just let you walk away, just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me,
When all I can do is watch you leave
Cos we've shared the laughter and the pain and even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now, oh there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me,
Just the memory of your face
Ooh take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against all odds and that's what I’ve got to face
I wish I could just make you turn around,
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you,
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me, just the memory of your face
Now take a look at me now, cos there's just an empty space
But to wait for you, is all I can do and that's what I’ve got to face
Take a good look at me now, cos I’ll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
It's the chance I’ve gotta take
