Congdon's Pharmacy closed on Main St. Nantucket after 147 years as a pharmacy. It opened in 1860. The building was sold and it will sadly become another jewelry store on the island. I should have moved those stupid garbage/recycle cans!
Some Pharmacies provided the "Cell Phone" of its time. Often times you entered a privatized booth, or waited it out for your turn... You dropped nickels, dimes, and quarters- until the price of the pay phone call increased-
Ahhh! The clinking sound of dropping change, rotary dial, and the old sound of the chiming bell! What an experience!

Farewell is the departure of a person to say him goodbye by giving honor. The word farewell was aroused from the middle English in late 14th century. So as, the day of majestic farewell has come (24.10.2014) when our respected seniors departuring us by leaving beautiful memories.
The preparations for the departure ceremony was started a week before because we want to give grand farewell to our seniors. Our respected teachers also helped us in the preparations. Our whole class participated in the preparation to make the ceremony splendid. Different committees of students were selected like organizers, stage organizers, finance committee etc. Decoration committee made very beautiful invitation cards for the teachers and seniors.
We selected a great hall where we have to gather. On the stage there was a flex on which a phrase written “Farewell Ceremony of Our Seniors”. The back wall was decorated with white and pink balloons that gave cool look. Our respected teachers arrived and there was a special sitting arrangement for the teachers.
The ceremony was started with the formal introduction of our Prestige University and great teachers. Formal hosts invited one of our classmates for the recitation of some verses from Holy Quran. After that, beautiful verses of naat and sufiyana kalam were presented.
Then, lights were turned off for a while and the very next moment lights turned on with popping balloons and poppers, sprinkling petals with glitters with WELCOME music which is played by DJ. That whole scene was so fabulous and bombastic welcome was given. Everyone enjoyed too much. Every face filled with affection, gratitude, cheers and excitement of a joyful party beginning.
There were many skits performed by students for amusement and entertainment. There were a lot of fun filled participations like “Pharmacist Qawal”i, “Disco Anarkali”, “Agar ma Pharmacist na hota to” which made that farewell majestic. Host students showed their extracurricular talent by enthusiastic participation.
There was segment of awarding funny “Titles” to seniors according to their personalities or attracting quality, which was the best segment of the day. Songs were dedicated to our teachers and they also like them a lot. Beautiful baskets carrying chocolates were also given to teachers with song dedication.
One of host student made a funny video in which he appreciate the seniors with fun element which was full of fun and everyone laughed too much. A special video of memories of senior batch was played. It has fantastic moments captured at many events like study tours, trips, university events etc. Every student of senior batch felt emotional and sad that they spend 5 years together and now it’s time to departure. We made them cheers and wish them good luck for best successful professional life and career ahead. Our teachers also shared their words of best wishes for departing dear students and said wise words for the start of career.
After these performances, delicious dinner was served. At the end we gave a flower bouquet to teachers for joining with us in our ceremony. Students made pictures with each others to keep golden moments captured forever.
That was the end of ceremony but not the end of memories. Memories will lasts ever in our hearts and we never forget our seniors, the great and best time we spent with them lasts forever. Seniors departed after taking the blessings of our teachers and good wishes of friends. While going, they cast their longing and lingering looks at this great and noble institution in whose lap they spent the most formative period of their life.

Here's another area of the Horn Lake west Kroger I failed to get a picture of before, and this is the very spot where I thought they might put a "look and feel your best" slogan up on the wall (maybe that would of been a little too obvious, putting it up right behind sick pharmacy customers!) Oh well, I like the green leafy pictures alright, but I still want another slogan or two put up somewhere! This means the "freshness is a way of life" slogan (flic.kr/p/k2sTHV) is still the only one here at this Kroger.

The Royal Pharmacy was created at the end of the 16th century to supply herbal medicines to the court. Glass retorts, pestles, mortars and jars fill the gilded shelves, while the reconstructed distillery shows how they might have been used.
During the reign of Philip II the Royal Pharmacy became an appendage of the royal family and ordered the supply of medicines, a role that continues today. The bottles were made in factories of La Granja de San Ildefonso and the Buen Retiro, there are also other items of 17th century made in Talavera de la Reina pottery.
