George Brown Petty IV (27 April 1894 – 21 July 1975) was an American pin-up artist. His pin-up art appeared primarily in Esquire and Fawcett Publications's True but was also in calendars marketed by Esquire, True and Ridgid Tool Company. Petty's Esquire gatefolds originated and popularized the magazine device of centerfold spreads. Reproductions of his work were widely rendered by military artists as nose art decorating warplanes during the Second World War, including the Memphis Belle, known as “Petty Girls”.

In Chinese calendar, every year there is a day in summertime earmarked for beating 'petty persons' (i.e. hostile parties). This day is called Jingzhe, overlapping either March 5th or the 6th in western calendar.
The main objective of the beating petty persons is to eliminate their vicious influence, while invoking aid from "honorable person" for the ritual's recipient who may or may not be the actual performer of the ritual.
In Hong Kong, underneath the Goose Neck Bridge in Wan Chai is a well-known locale for people exercising the ritual, but it is a mistaken idea if it is thought to be an exclusive venue, as one could easily find people everywhere performing the same ritual at street corners in respective neighborhoods. The Bridge draws particular attention simply because it gathers a number of elderly women, working as 'professional beaters'.

I was planning to do an epic Holi powder battle photoshoot, so while visiting Sam Petty in Austin, TX, we decided to test out a bit of the Holi powder.
This was on the first day of her last year of college, and even though she scrubbed herself raw after the shoot, not all the color came out. So she had to walk into her first senior classes looking orange & purple.

Sorensen, who is currently stationed on the recently decommissioned Cutter Rush, was stationed on Coast Guard Cutter Sherman when the ship made the trip across the Pacific Ocean to its new home port in Honolulu.

One of the many once familiar neighborhood stores, now sadly gone with only a occasional weathered sign to remind us of what once was.

The doctors brought Petty back with her 4 alive babies ! One of her 5 new borns died a short time after she gave him birth before I called the doctors.
She had a caesarean and all the babies from her belly were saved. The doctors were very very happy. They said that if they wouldn't take her, she would die because the 3 babies who were yet in her belly when they took her, were not yet in the uterus.
Now she is dizzy, and I blocked the output of the box because she tried to get out and enter with her head under a furniture and I couldn't take off her head from there. I had to raise the furniture...
UPDATE: Petty has 3 boys and a girl: 2 tabby boys Peter and Tom, a black boy Romeo and a black girl Midnight.

Despite Petty's royal nickname, he comes off as a very humble guy. A NASCAR champ before it was a mega sport, Petty amassed 200 wins. He drove the #43 car for years with the STP logo. I caught Petty at the Dover race this past weekend.
Petty is the 2nd in a 4 generation family of racers. His grandson Adam died in practice at New Hampshire. His son Kyle now drives for Petty's currently struggling team.
Petty was receiving an honor at Dover this past weekend as a seven time winner at this track .
Here he is with his trademark shades, hat & a great smile
