”when traveling abroad in the continental style
it’s my belief, one must attempt to be discreet
and subsequently bear in mind your transient position
that which allows you a perspective that’s unique ...” T. Waits

Jill bought me this gift/experience a few months ago and today was the day for doing it!!
Part of the 'experience' was a slide show on the history and construction of the bridge.! That was amazing indeed considering how long ago it was made!!
Seeing the bridge from a completely different perspective!!

Sometime some random clicks are a good source of fun ... I always try to have it... :) Thanks for exploring.

and of course our troubles here are microscopic and trivial compared to world news today. my thoughts are all with the people of Ukraine, my niece India who is aboard an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean, and the safety and peace of the whole planet, which seems extra in jeopardy today…
She's just such a lovely doll. I *think* my girl is flawless, though occasionally the way the lens captures her right eye makes me question if it's a tiny bit wonky in some way. It might just be that stern little expression of hers wincing at me though. ;)

We think too small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well. If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view.

It's hard to believe that this menacing looking creature is actually a rather smallish Green Tree Python at the Toronto Zoo just having a rest. A little zoom, a liitle tonal processing, and voila, you have spooky.
I'm revisiting some of my older shots. This one taken during a trip to the Zoo in 2017.
Layered strata catch winter afternoon light at North Coyote Buttes creating an interesting juxtaposition with the snow-accented and darker layers of the mountainside beyond, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona.
This is actually a view of part of the “Second Wave”, just a short distance away from the more famous “Wave” with its truly amazing, undulating layers of redder sandstone. We had been trying for the past couple of years to get a permit through the online lottery to hike the Wave, but we were never successful. Being in the area in early January—and after a decent size snowstorm—we took a morning and went to the in-person lottery (which was more sparsely attended than usual because of the snow we were told) and got lucky.
The Wave was absolutely amazing to see partly draped in winter snow. I thought the Wave and surrounding area was even more interesting than I expected going in, which is saying something because the Wave gets a lot of hype as most of you know. But I didn’t get anything that really stood out for me photographically at the Wave itself this time in the heavily-tracked snow. The good news: It was a great day out in an amazing place and I now have extra incentive to head that way again.
This is another image from the past week’s photography trip to the southwest with good friends Josh Krasner and Sky Matthews. Thanks again for visiting!
Four field bins just outside of Milang in South Australia. Taken from the side of the road, I liked the spacing and perspective of the shiny bins against the dry fields.

7 of 10 days here in Alabama are blue skies. Great for the soul, but bad for my art. But I patiently waited and I think I got a perfect sky for this perspective. HSS!
