A cruise down the Seine, with a beautiful church in the distance. Blue skies, puffy clouds, and friends nearby. It was, indeed, a perfect day. The church you see is “The medieval Collegiate Church of Our Lady of Mantes, … a large and historically important Catholic church constructed between c.1155 and 1350 in the small town of Mantes-la-Jolie, about 50 km west of Paris. Although not a cathedral it was built on a cathedral-like scale.”

Ordinary day. The end of December afternoon, the blue moment is approaching. It takes a few minutes and then the darkness begins. Now today, at the end of January, a month later than in this ICMphoto, the day is already two hours longer and the brightness is increasing all the time. Light. Light. Light.
Very often, an ordinary day is a perfect day. Light, joy. For you too. Finland. ICM.

One of the many beautiful lakes and inlets we passed on our drive across Newfoundland. This pretty scene was a few hours from Twillingate on the north shore of the island.
A perfect day for me: in the middle of nature, surrounded by flowers, with sun rays and sea breeze. The company of my cats and to end a boat trip. And music, always music.
The song:
A perfect day on the Isle of Skye, Scotland's West coast. My dream cottage. The peak of Bla Bheinn pops into view on the right, middle right in the distance are the Red Cuillins of Skye, and the Striking high mountains across loch Scavaig are the Black Cuillins, the big peaks of Skye that rise out of the Atlantic Ocean.
I realise the colours are a little OTT but I played for it that way. I hope you like this shot like this. For the original see below.

Port Jefferson, LI
...and this is why I love Long Island... it doesn't get better than this!!
Port Jefferson is a beautiful, historic town located on the North Shore of Long Island where the smell of salt in the air and the sound of the Long Island Ferry is never too far in the distance. This waterfront town was settled in the 1600s as a rural town, but transitioned into a shipbuilding center in the 1800s.
Many of the historic buildings and homes still standing in Port Jefferson belonged to prominent sailors and shipbuilders in the area. Visitors to the town can still take in a slice of history at buildings like the Village Center. The Village Center was formerly a shipyard, where builders worked tirelessly to create and immediately launch ships into the Long Island Sound.
Today, Port Jefferson is widely known as a popular tourist spot in Suffolk County, as well as a transport hub thanks to the Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Company, which takes hundreds of passengers to and from Connecticut each day. Port Jeff is busiest in the summer, but it also draws many tourists for unique events like the Charles Dickens Festival, which is held every December.
Front Page Feb 11 at 10 PM says perfectday_s,,,Thanks sweetie for the notice...go see her great birds and squirrels everyone! ( I have to take her word for it...could not find it)
My shot of the the much photographed tree in lake Wanaka. I love the blue hue throughout this shot & the fact that the bird didn't move during the long exposure.
“I'm goin' where the sun keeps shinin'
Through the pourin' rain
Goin' where the weather suits my clothes
Bankin' off of the northeast wind
Sailin' on a summer breeze
Skippin' over the ocean like a stone
Everybody's talkin' at me
I can't hear a word they're sayin'
Only the Echos of My Mind”

Mum's birthday and an early start for me. Beautiful sunrise, then a visit to the fudge factory in Coniston, viewed a few of Tim Dove's images and a proper breakie in Ambleside. Perfect 80th b'day for mum.
Glencoe Lochan is a tract of forest located just north of Glencoe village in the Scottish Highlands. It was planted in the 1890s by Donald Alexander Smith, 1st Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal, with trees transplanted from the Pacific Northwest of Canada. After acquiring the Glencoe Estate in 1895, Smith and his wife, Isabella Sophia Hardisty, moved from Canada to Scotland. Soon after their arrival, Isabella became increasingly homesick for her ancestral lands in Canada. In an attempt to abate his wife's depression, Smith had this forest painstakingly planted, and granted it to her as a private refuge.

after our Kings Park Psych adventure, we found ourselves walking along a beautiful beach... never knew was there...
it was low tide and this boat was having an issue being stuck on the sand... hope they weren't planning a boat outing at this time!
If it weren't that we ran into one of David's friends... we would have never known about this beach and enjoyed our private tour!
Just a perfect day,
Drink Sangria in the park,
And then later, when it gets dark,
We go home.
Just a perfect day,
Feed animals in the zoo
Then later, a movie, too,
And then home.
Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.
Just a perfect day,
Problems all left alone,
Weekenders on our own.
It's such fun.
Just a perfect day,
You made me forget myself.
I thought I was someone else,
Someone good.
Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.
