My first real Butterfly hunt of the year and I wanted to see something special. I've visited these Pearl Bordered Fritillaries before and found them energetic - to say the least! One of the rarer species in this country because their specific habitat is disappearing. The only shots I got were on dead Bracken but I chose this over a closer shot because I liked the textures and colours in the dried Ferns. The Frits are difficult to identify from the top wing markings but I'm yet to see the underwing of this flighty species.

Usually she is asleep, but the other morning she saw me and watched me for awhile with her intense gaze. I think Cleo was in my window then, so she was looking at Cleo, too.

Caught this back-lit spiders web while on an early morning walk in Dorset last week.The morning dew catching the light and lighting it up,like little strings of pearls.............

These pearls are really just beads. The red and black handbag with the Prada logo was a recent charity shop find. Still, you can dream....

Magnolia Pearl-located in the quaint little German town of Fredericksburg, Texas. Located just a few miles out of town off of Hwy. 290 East, nestled between Fredericksburg's endless wine vineyards and rolling peach orchards. Magnolia Pearl is more than just a clothing store; they enveloped the old-world feel of Fredericksburg with the old German grain barn style building made with reclaimed wood, which was sourced from all over the country.
Tiny, common, found all over the United States. I have lots of photos of them. Don't need more. Still, when they land right in front of me, open their wings and hold the pose....I just can't help myself. Maybe just one more shot.....

Pearl's hair has grown so much this summer. I watered her today. I do it rarely and that is why her pearls have lasted.
