next step ! i'm doing an PCB board to clean the rig .

on the picture , the pcb's on paper, to check congestion.

front rig : switch on / off, an LED indicator state of the battery, a potentiometer for adjusting the pace of shots and the rotation of the pan, and an outlet for charging the battery without having to disassemble.

Spray Adhesive + graphite powder + roller brush. In an attempt to make DIY PCB board. Did not work. :(

I used free PCB design software available at: www.diptrace.com

There IS a learning curve, but not too bad.

Once I had the traces printed out in mirror image, I had it laser copied on "Press-n-Peel" transfer paper, (available from www.techniks.com) then ironed the image face-down on copper-clad PCB board. The copy toner is heat-transferred to the copper board, and serves as a resist mask for the ferric chloride etchant ( from Radio Shack ). The board is scrubbed with a Scotchbrite pad and holes are drilled for the components. Solder, clip, repeat.

The four black things on the middle of the board are surface mount diodes across each relay coil to catch the inductive spikes when the relays open. The transistors live a lot longer with these!

This is the back of a small PCB board found inside one of those gift cards that plays music when opened. Notice the "blobtop" packaging used on the IC on the right side of the PCB. In this type of packaging, the IC die is mounted and bonded directly to the board, and a blob of epoxy protects the IC from the environment. Ive had the PCB board in my garage for a few weeks now awaiting installation into my Centipede standup arcade machine. It was beckoning me.... Backlit at 1/4 with a blue gel then vibrancy tweaked to reduce the green a bit.

I think I prefer this one over the one below.
