These prints made as part of the Circuit Portraits project (blog.circuitportraits.com/ and shop: www.circuitportraits.com/). Design is taken from a genuine Issue One circuit board from the first generation of Sinclair ZX Spectrum, made in 1982.
You can print vivid small letters, but readable, sharp colors, photo quality, durable color resistance, anti-scratch/alcohol proof and on any color of materials even on dark with 3D textured print result.
This rig is fitted with a modified Hitec HS 85 MG. The pcb board has been removed, and fed 1.5v direct to motor . It rotate at about 4 rpm, which is not too bad.Canon SD 860 is loaded with CHDK, shooting at preset intervals. This is as simple as AUTOKAP RIG you can get. It operate from just one 1.5v battery. LGB JUMBO 50100 INTERNALS now this picture shows you the two wires i mentioned before earlier that plug onto the two spade connections just in front of that verticaly mounted component PCB board.
Looking at the LGB jumbo pack from the front of the unit where the four micro switch control buttons are located that operate the forwards / reverse / pause and emergency stop functions the black wire from the amp and volt meters plugs onto the left hand spade terminal and the blue wire from the volt and amp meters plugs onto the right hand spade connector just as you can see in it this picture.

After cleaning everything, I was still having issues with the joystick. In order for the red (fire) button to make contact on the new PCB board (bottom nipple was worn) I had to purchase a new button, thus a new spring came with it as well.
The wires are very old (36+ years) so I had to be careful taking them off the old PCB board and placing them on the new one. One was loose (wouldn't stay on the old or new PCB board), thus I took a pair of needle nose pliers and gently tightened the metal piece at the end of the wire onto the board.
I could've purchased new dome contacts and soldered them on to the old board, as you see in the left photo, but I decided to purchase a gold PCB board, which I ordered from Best-Electronics based in San Jose, CA, which is the largest Atari parts store in the world. If you need it, they have it.

When I first plugged in Charley's joystick, I couldn't believe the difference. It felt like it was brand new, and even better.

Parts Replaced:
* PCB Board (w/ gold PCB Board due to contacts being worn),
*Red (fire) button (due to nipple being worn at the bottom)
*Spring (old spring was dark color due to age, even after washing)
there was a minor clearance issue with the blue rubber. to get proper clearance, the pcb mod was placed above it. learning from this, the pcb board would need a cut in that area to provide better clearance. this was done later. lesson learned.

sidenote:
***around the first week of january 2011, i was told that the tron deluxe identity disc changed their circuit board to a green one lacking open solder points.
however, modders were still successful. the idea is still the same. solder the wires to the resistor that corresponds to each led. it may be a bit more difficult without the open solder spots, but it still works without any issues.***

The inside, along with the red (fire) button and white joystick handle look brand new.
As mentioned in previous photos, I did have to purchase a new red button, because the bottom nipple of the button is worn, thus it can't make contact on the new gold PCB board. This is common with these PCB boards. A new spring came with it as well.
1. after dissecting the innards i noticed this spot could accommodate an extra pcb board with some clearance that can be cut to shape.
i used a paper plate and cut out a pattern first, which was then traced onto a radioshack blank perf board with a silver sharpie.

If a spoon drain is like this I get off and walk the scooter up over the drain, now, even if it means getting off on a Highway.
With the bitumen high and thick on the edge and the gutter concrete shorter than a scooter tyre, then when you try to drive out of this area, you back tyres can get caught as the tread tries to turn upward, specially if the scooter is not directly at right angles to the area, and one wheel gets caught before the other.
The next problem is the steepness of the first upward section and the shortness of it. The result is the scooter bottoms out, and in this case the two top sections slope in different directions making it even worse. With the Auriga spring set to a very soft position the scooter bent in the middle and twisted, the motor laboured and the motor plugs got pulled out of the sockets. After getting a passer-by to lift the seat off for me, I put my hand into the controller box and pushed the plugs back down. The scooter started to go again, so got the next person to come along to put the seat back on for me. The next join in the footpath the scooter stopped again, so I went through the same process of getting the seat taken off and re- pushing the plugs back down. Same thing the next join in the concrete. So this time I left the battery cover off and carried it home. . The battery cover was fowling on the lever and pushing the motor out of gear
After that I got on really flat concrete and the scooter would start very slowly then take off flat out, as if being pushed suddenly forward , then felt like it was free wheeling for a couple of meters then slowed almost to a stop again. I had to lean right forward onto the tiller to prevent my back from being damaged by the sudden forward movements. This went on for an hour all the way home. I guess at least it got me home. Fortunately I was only around the block from home at the time..
After recharging it over night it still did the same thing the next day, for 50 meters from home, so I took it all apart to investigate.
On taking the Brushes out I found one top was not sitting properly onto the brush shaft, as the top bar had been pushed into the shaft instead of sitting over the top of the shaft, and the spring was short and wouldn't pull out to the length it should have been. Obviously this bush would not have been making contact constantly. So ordered new brushes, and set about lifting the battery cover with pipes as described in other photos, to prevent it fouling on the free wheel lever. Attended to the cables to make sure they all would not be interfered with by other cables while going over bumps. Padded all cables and made sure they couldn't be pulled out of their sockets. Made all the wires, specially the ones connecting the batteries, were in as straight line, as they could be ( as electricity likes to go in a straight line).
Made sure the scooter frame wouldn't bend ,thus pulling out the wires in the process. The loose tension on the spring had been causing the scooter to bend too much over uneven surfaces. With the spring collar wound back to where the mark showed on the tread, I could stand on any part of the frame work and the scooter remained perfectly level, where as it used to bend just by pushing it down just with my hand. It hasn't made any noticeable difference to the smoothness of the ride. So the spring is really to hold the scooter motor section, together and straight in line with the front section, not to make it less bumpy over the footpaths. So if you are having a problem with your Auriga , these things could be causing the problem.
Six months ago all of the lights stopped working after going over a two inch high rock on the footpath, that I didn't see in the dark. Checking the globes found they were all ok and so was the wiring and cables, after giving them the wobble test with the motor running while the wheels were off the ground.
After installing a new PCB board to the tiller top, the lights are all working perfectly again, so some thing must have come a miss on the board, and it wasn't the Wires ,Globes, or the Plugs.
In a nut shell If you don't want to have trouble with you scooter get off at Dicey spoon drains, or driveway gutters, and walk the scooter over it and you wont have the same troubles I had.

The PCB board along with the rest of the parts to the CX-40 joystick are nice and clean, including the screws, which there's four screws on the bottom of the joystick.
I soaked the pieces in hot soapy water for 2 hours. I then took a tooth brush and cleaned all the parts, including the screws and spring.
To eliminate anything that was left behind, I soaked all the parts (excluding PCB board and the pin/conductor joystick cable cord) in vinegar for 1 hour. The vinegar doesn't harm the plastic parts.
To clean the PCB board, which was quite dusty (previous photo) I used 91% rubbing alcohol with a q-tip. It doesn't hurt the PCB board because a thin piece of plastic covers the board and dome contacts.

I ordered this board from Best-Electronics, based in San Jose, CA and the largest Atari parts store in the world.
This is what a joystick does when the white plastic joystick handle (and red button) hit the domed contacts.
This board is suppose to last a lifetime and better than the original CX-40 PCB boards. I have to agree, these boards are awesome. They seem to be 25% - 30% better than a new original board.

What is a PCB assembler?

About the pot pieces:
The pot pieces can be tinned, silvered, gold-plated, and other different surface treatments. Different treatments on the surface can produce different effects. About the pan-shaped pieces:

About its different names:

Metal dome: the part to complete the work on the pan film switch
Metal dome is widely used. The metal dome is also the most important part to complete the work on the membrane switch. There are many common causes of failure of shrapnel:
The operation is too frequent.

Therefore, the factors we need to consider when applying metal dome to the membrane switch are whether the metal dome can withstand the pressure of this product, whether the stroke is consistent with this product, and the isolation layer should not be too thick.

Strength: 90gf, 100gf, 130gf, 160gf, 180gf, 200gf, 220gf, 250gf, 260gf, 280gf round keys. The most used strengths are divided into these types
Appearance: there is one contact on the top, four contacts, and five contact buttons, and there are also no points and one contact on the top. The three-snap points are evenly distributed on the edge. The round metal domes are all the key shrapnels with the shortest stroke in the shape of the metal dome.
Specification of triangle snap dome:
Size: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm. Triangle key shrapnels currently have more customers with these diameters.
Strength: 130gf, 160fg, 180gf, 250gf, 280gf, 320gf, 350gf, the pressure of the triangular pot is generally these types.
Appearance: the triangular snap dome has two kinds of feet and no feet. The triangular key springs with feet can be directly welded on the PCB board. There are two kinds of points, one is with one point The species is one point among the three surrounding points.
Specification of the cross-shaped snap dome:
Size: 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8.4mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, the cross-shaped snap dome customers use more than 7 diameters.
Strength: 130gf, 180gf, 220gf, 280gf, 350gf, 400gf.
Shape: there are no dots, there is one dot in the middle, four dots at the top, and four dots at five dots.
Specification of the oval pan and quadrilateral snap domes:
The oval and quadrilateral rectangular square pan slices are used together because they have no significant difference in shape and size.
Size: 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, and 5mm.
Strength: 100gf, 130gf, 140gf, 160gf, and 180gf are the most used by customers.
Shape: there are no dots, one dot, four dots, and five dots on the surface.
Notes: It is more common for triangular pans to have feet, and for round shapes, there are also buttons with feet. Relatively speaking, the round pan pieces have a shorter stroke, the cross-shaped pan pieces have a larger stroke, the ellipse has a smaller diameter and less force, and the triangle has a shape that can reach a higher level. It can reach 3000gf, and all the pots can be silver-plated or tin-plated. The life of pots of different shapes can be the same. The life of pots in China is generally between 100,000 and 700,000 times.
