Lately it has been raining quite a lot for summertime. The first roses to bloom have been extensively battered by the rain, bringing them to perish just in a few days. Grabbing my chances, I decided to head out on a rainy evening and put to use a cover purchased months ago. While it turned out not to be ideal as the plastic is quite thick impeding the access to the ring for manual focus, it definitely managed to protect the camera from the rain and I was able to get some shots even in adverse conditions.

Happy July everyone!

I have two children, well, adults, but always my children. Both times I got pregnant, I absolutely could not wait to take my babies into my arms and hold them, kiss them with all the love I had to give. Nine months is a long time. I wonder if this mama feels the same...

"Patience is power.
Patience is not an absence of action;
rather it is "timing"
it waits on the right time to act,
for the right principles
and in the right way."

Here is the female of a nesting pair of eagles, waiting her turn to work on whatever food the male had just brought back. It wasn't long before she settled back down on the eggs.

today I was reminded of the importance of patience, to Squirrels And Photographers. So after getting my exercise at Bass Ponds, I spent most of my time at Veterans park sitting on my backside. And it worked! This Greenie and a few others came to me. And I also had some nice conversations with a few other nature seekers.

Canid/candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
Captured in November 2024.
Such a pretty little dog left outside waiting and I couldn't resist a photo. With this one I break the 7000 photos in my "Glasgow" album. I wonder how many I have that are so far unpublished. Hmmm.
Stay safe everyone. Enjoy.
Three juvenile wood storks wait for a parent to decide to feed them. Looks like they have all fields of view covered. When they want to be fed they become LOUD!
The Wood Storks nest in tight colonies which is why you see birds from other families nearby to the side and behind. The three in the foreground in focus are siblings.
