This great egret perched on a log in the water for the longest time then it swooped off and grabbed something from the lake and flew off to enjoy the tiny turtle it had picked up.

Proverbs 31:21 “She is unafraid of winter's effect on her household, because all of them are warmly clothed.”

This is the last of these pictures...woohoo!!!!

Ecclesiastes 7:8 “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.”

I had a feeling that this yard sale mug would come in handy for something more that coffee and hot tea one of these days. :-)

A game of patience or just plain stubbornness? The Skua stands over the Gentoo penguins nest waiting for him / her to step off so they can grab an egg or chick.

The Gentoo will sit there and wait for ever - - its when 2 Skua's get involved that the penguin will sometimes lose this battle.

In this particular instance the Gentoo penguin won the patience game - - there were other times later in the week where I saw the opposite happen though.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

You also must be patient. Keep your hopes high, for the day of the Lord’s coming is near.

I have renamed this build: Patience, because it amazes me how much patience and perseverance animals must exhibit when they are starving in cold winter weather. We take it for granted with our cupboards and refrigerators stocked with food. :P

This build is an update with a little fox pup added.

About halfway through my shift, I got wind of an IC Deathstar leading on 505, and seriously considered shooting it, but figured it would be too late, so I wrote it off. When I was leaving work, I had noticed that the train was skipping its usual work in Flint and heading straight for Durand, to which I thought I should go. After retrieving my equipment, I headed out, quickly trying to get there. Then the waiting game began. 2 hours after I arrived and a small window of set up time so as not to arouse suspicion with the train crew, CN L505 finally departs Durand passing the classic depot. To think I didn't want to stay out late...

A timid little juvenile blackbird awaited patiently to be fed.

Lately it has been raining quite a lot for summertime. The first roses to bloom have been extensively battered by the rain, bringing them to perish just in a few days. Grabbing my chances, I decided to head out on a rainy evening and put to use a cover purchased months ago. While it turned out not to be ideal as the plastic is quite thick impeding the access to the ring for manual focus, it definitely managed to protect the camera from the rain and I was able to get some shots even in adverse conditions.
