Past memories - The ancient packhorse bridge, Slater's Bridge, in Little Langdale. Used by the slate miners in Tiberthwaite, it crosses the River Brathay just downstream of Little Langdale Tarn to connect the quarries with the hamlet of Little Langdale. HFF

In Alberta these past few November days.. minus the color and bugs, although, I did swallow a bug while biking and see a few lazy bees hanging around. I've been out kayaking again and it sure is cool hitting and breaking up the ice ; what a sound it makes. Of course I scare all the wildlife while doing that so I leave the cam at home. Since it is my Mom's birthday and she loved fishing with Dad I'm posting this one from another favorite stomping ground of mine. Taken with the 40D and my banged up 300mm which surprises me :) Happy Saturday!
The past 2 weeks were the best in the AWD (Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen)
Thousands of hawthorns (meidoorns) in bloom...

Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
Past their best but perfect for outside decor. Well dried so unlikely our resident squirrel will have any interest.
I suspect we're all spending more time going back over older images. At some point we'll be able to get out again.
Until then, be safe, be well. Best wishes for everyone.

I almost walked straight past this wonderful female basilisk lizard that was sunning herself on an old torch lily head. I love how long her rear toes are and its easy to see from these how they can easily run across the surface of the water, giving them their nickname of 'Jesus Christ lizards'.
A female Northern Shoveler flying past a Coot.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.
Leaving Seattle behind as we ferry to Bainbridge... Black and white seemed appropriate for the gray day...
Gin enters a halloween theme contest in Midian, using a friend from the past he paints almost in a dream like state.
Part of Zamek Sarny - castle/palace - awaiting restoration.
In the complex there is already a nice cafe and balcony terrace.
Much of the beauty here lies in its current dilapidated state which is interesting to see and discover as it will slowly be changed during the long restorations. The history and website is in the links below. Much internal repair work has been done in some areas but much more needs to be done :
The photo is unedited.
See Album of 'Kamieniec' which was a dilapidated palace and was later restored into a fine small hotel and restaurant which opened a few years ago. More restoration to the outbuildings is being done but it is a wonderful place to visit.
Shooting the milky way and in general the stars, is like shooting the past. The light from the star travel during a long time to come to us.
Here is the complete panorama i took last month with a 50mm

240 second exposure of the streaming clouds past this tree stump and the exposed roots.
I have mixed feelings on this one. I like the overall comp and the cloud effect with the LE, but I wish I had tilted this up just a little to not have the tree stump break the far side of the lake.
I think that is good excuse to go back to Glacier National Park just so I can retake this ;))
