Strangely ownership details don't come up for this. But definitely a long term owner.
A rough example, I love the 2 tone blue paintwork on it. It's done 161k miles and still does around 3-4k a year.
Just 4 left on the road with this one being the only one for the year!
Long-relinquished ownership claim on a pair of adjustable pliers (Channellocks, we'd say, although they're not).
My dad gave me this hand-me-down tool about 30 years ago, give or take a few. They still serve me well. I am pretty sure it was the 1970s when he got an engraving tool and went to town on just about everything he owned at the time.
Stanley Brook is one of many in Acadia National Park that run from the mountains to the ocean below. The area is also known for pink granite that appears darker when wet as above.

In ownership since 1989! I overtook it and later on it drove behind me. Actually, it was tailgating since the driver thought I wasn't going over the many (extremely high) speed bumps fast enough... I'm never taking that road again.

While BNSF maintains ownership of 28th Street yard, it’s not uncommon to find all sorts of locomotives here getting serviced. On the left is BNSF 1943, an SD40-2 originally built as the Burlington Northern 7145 while it awaits its turn on one of the many locals around the twin ports, while on the right is a long string of CN owned locomotives awaiting the trip back to home rails at their own nearby Pokegema yard. Notable in the lineup is a BC Rail C44-9W hidden out of sight at the far end of the line, while facing nose out is ET44AC 3069 sporting a heritage scheme commemorating the Wisconsin Central railroad. It’s hard to complain about catching a heritage unit, but it’s all the better when you have some original paint thrown in there too.
66184 now under GBRf's ownership but still wearing its EWS colours is seen in the cutting at Hexthorpe Junction, Doncaster working 6M73 10:52 Doncaster Up Decoy-Toton North Yard. 14/03/2018.
In ownership since 1975! Being a diesel that's even more special, since they're expensive tax-wise in The Netherlands. That makes it only cost-efficient to drive a diesel when you drive a lot... I wonder how much it has driven in all those years.
In ownership since 1990! Owning a diesel is expensive here, so I wonder if it has been on the road all this time or if it's back on the road since turning 40 (=tax exempt).
Many thanks to Francesco Bloisi for the ownership change info 👍

Team Pennine are now 6 months in, lots of good has been done it is true, but six times as much remains still to be put right. A scramble to find the vehicles again has seen this gemini from rosso arrive during 2021. It soon fitted in well though with the fleetname pulled off. Initially held in a school cage at Huddersfield, it now runs riot anywhere...Halifax the lucky rotation on the 21 this time.

This was an absolute delight to see. It resembles the typical Datsun Violet you'd have spotted in the early - mid 90s, with a tidemark, rattle can sprayed wheels, and a range of different period stickers on the windscreen. The owner must really love it, if the bodywork repairs are anything to go by. I spoke to the owners niece, who noticed me photographing his car. She was fine with it, probably because, I would imagine that the car gets plenty of attention out and about, with me certainly not being the first person to photograph it. The car has been spotted by several people on Flickr before, and someone on a Facebook car spotting group had photographed it on the same day I had spotted the car. I saw it myself at a junction about 6 years ago, but didn't manage to get a pic. Lets hope it keeps on going, although the long list of corrosion related advisories on the current MOT test, do not sound promising!

Trelissick Garden (Cornish: Lowarth Trelesyk) is a garden in the ownership of the National Trust at Feock, near Truro, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.
Trelissick Garden lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.
The garden has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1955 when it was donated by Ida Copeland following the death of her son Geoffrey. A stained glass memorial bearing the Copeland Crest remains to this effect in Feock parish church. The house and garden had formerly been owned and developed by the Daniell family, which had made its fortune in the 18th Century Cornish copper mining industry.
Many of the species that flourish in the mild Cornish air, including the rhododendrons and azaleas which are now such a feature of the garden, were planted by the Copelands including hydrangeas, camellias and flowering cherries, and exotics such as the ginkgo and various species of palm. They also ensured that the blossoms they nurtured had a wider, if unknowing audience. Mr Ronald Copeland was chairman and later managing director of his family's business, the Spode china factory. Flowers grown at Trelissick were used as models for those painted on ware produced at the works.
The Copeland family crest, a horse's head, now decorates the weathervane on the turret of the stable block, making a pair with the Gilbert squirrels on the Victorian Gothic water tower, an echo of the family who lived here in the second half of the 19th century (their ancestor, Sir Humphrey Gilbert, was lost at sea in his tiny ship Squirrel after discovering Newfoundland).
The garden is noted for its rare shrubs. It offers a large park, woodland walks, views over the estuary of the River Fal and Falmouth.
Trelissick Garden is the home of the National Plant Collections of photinias and azaras.

So finden sich in Trelissick u. a.

A month into ownership now and not much to report, it still starts fine and sounds fine. I was a little concerned about a whistle noise but it seems to have disappeared now. I am planning on getting it MOT'd very soon, as it'll hopefully be on the road full time if I pass my test on July 7th.
So far I've not spent too much money on it, other than buying a Haynes manual, an original dealer brochure, a period road test, a new rear light (as the original had been cracked) and a radio code to get the original stereo working. I have also been at it with a toothbrush to get some of the annoying dirt out of the crevices, and I managed to blast most of the mud/rubber out of the rear arches. I've noticed that the front indicators have a tendency to build up condensation, which is irritating!
Still very happy with it.
"Thomas Nelson House is an historic Colonial home in Yorktown, Virginia. It was built around 1730 and held by generations of the Nelson family through the Revolutionary War. After years in private ownership, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.
It was acquired by the National Park Service in 1968 and restored in 1976 to its 18th-century character. It is also a contributing property to Colonial National Historical Park in Yorktown and among the battlefield attractions.
The house was built by Thomas "Scotch Tom" Nelson around 1730, and later occupied by his grandson, Founding Father Thomas Nelson, Jr. (1738-1789) during the American Revolutionary War. Nelson, Jr., who signed the Declaration of Independence as a delegate to the Second Continental Congress, was a planter, politician, and later governor of Virginia.
The house was damaged during the siege of Yorktown. It served as a hospital during the Civil War.
In 1914, it was purchased by Captain and Mrs. George P. Blow, who renamed it as "York Hall". They made a number of additions to update the property, which were designed by Griffin & Wynkoop.
In 1968, the National Park Service bought the property. It restored the house in 1976 to its 18th-century character. It has been designated as the Thomas Nelson House, a National Historical Landmark. It is also a contributing property to the Yorktown Battlefield Part of Colonial National Historical Park. It is open for tours as part of the Yorktown Battlefield attractions.
Yorktown is a census-designated place (CDP) in York County, Virginia. It is the county seat of York County, one of the eight original shires formed in colonial Virginia in 1682. Yorktown's population was 195 as of the 2010 census, while York County's population was 66,134 in the 2011 census estimate.
The town is most famous as the site of the siege and subsequent surrender of General Charles Cornwallis to General George Washington and the French Fleet during the American Revolutionary War on October 19, 1781. Although the war would last for another year, this British defeat at Yorktown effectively ended the war in North America. Yorktown also figured prominently in the American Civil War (1861–1865), serving as a major port to supply both northern and southern towns, depending upon who held Yorktown at the time.
Yorktown is one of three sites of the Historic Triangle, which also includes Jamestown and Williamsburg as important colonial-era settlements. It is the eastern terminus of the Colonial Parkway connecting these locations. Yorktown is also the eastern terminus of the TransAmerica Trail, a bicycle touring route created by the Adventure Cycling Association.
One of Yorktown's historic sister cities is Zweibrücken in Germany, based on participation of a unit from there during the American Revolutionary War." - info from Wikipedia.
The fall of 2022 I did my 3rd major cycling tour. I began my adventure in Montreal, Canada and finished in Savannah, GA. This tour took me through the oldest parts of Quebec and the 13 original US states. During this adventure I cycled 7,126 km over the course of 2.5 months and took more than 68,000 photos. As with my previous tours, a major focus was to photograph historic architecture.

Hier sehen sie den 1963 Porsche 356 B 2000 GS/GT (Coupé, "Dreikantschaber") mit einem 2-Liter-Motor, 114 kW / 155 PS.
yes, it's one of the last 356 models...

Ashton Corporation ran a small fleet of about 20 trolleybuses, serving five routes. In the mid 1950s, the trolleybuses accounted for about a third of the Ashton bus fleet. The Ashton routes were jointly operated with Manchester Corporation, whom Ashton was heavily dependant upon.
The 218 Staybridge trolleybus route was jointly operated with Manchester Corporation, but also the SHMD Board. SHMD were the joint Corporations of Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield. SHMD did not operate trolleybuses, but had ownership of the overhead and supply equipment within its borough boundary, maintaining this infrastructure by agreement.
In 1959, Manchester withdrew their own 213 trolleybus service when a retail development by the Co-op required the relocation of the trolleybus terminal point. Manchester opted to replace the 213 trolleybus service with motorbuses instead. This cast doubt on the future of Manchester's trolleybus operations to whom Ashton were tied.
Things gathered pace in July 1960, when the joint 217 service to Haughton Green was converted to Motorbus by Manchester, with Ashton having to follow suit. A new housing estate at Haughton Green was in the planning, and the trolleys did not feature.
Ashton pressed Manchester Council for information on the future of the trolleybuses. In 1961 a report was issued by Manchester Council outlining the plans for Manchester's trolleybuses. The report spoke of the phased withdrawal of Manchester's trolleybuses, and that trolleybus overhauls and maintenance of the infrastructure should not see trolley vehicles lasting beyond 1967. This heavily impacted on the future of Ashton's trolleybus operations
In October 1964, the 219 service to Manchester Piccadilly via Audenshaw and Guide Bridge ended abruptly. This left just the 215, 216 and 218 services trolleybus operated.
In May 1966, Manchester withdrew its trolleybuses from off the 218 route, reducing their trolleybus services to the 215 and 216. Mixed in with motorbus journeys, Ashton continued to operate trolleybuses on the 218 route into Stalybridge until the end of the year.
In November 1966 it was jointly announced that the last day of trolleybus operations would be Friday 30th December 1966, when all trolleybus operations in Ashton and Manchester would end. Ashton No87 became the last trolleybus to operate for Ashton Corporation, and BUT trolleybus No 1354 for Manchester.
In quiet post-Christmas surrounds, the image shows Ashton trolleybus No88 in Staybridge Bus Station on Monday 30th December 1963. No88 had been one of eight new Bond bodied BUT trolleybuses 82 - 89 (YTE821-828), received by Ashton Corporation in 1956.
Between 1955 and 1956, Manchester Corporation purchased a large number of BUT trolleybuses (1301-1362), all of which were bodied by Burlingham. It is most likely that Ashton's eight BUT's were tagged onto the back of the Manchester order to reduce costs.
In 1950, Ashton had purchased five Crossley bodied Crossley TDD42 'Empire' three-axle trolleybuses, which coincided with Manchester buying a large batch of the same between 1949-1950. That said, Ashton had operated Crossley trolleybuses since before WW2. The only other British operator of Crossley trolleybuses was Grimsby-Cleethorpes.
Ashton's BUT trolleybuses had a short life, and a scrapyard fate awaited after the system closed in December 1966. Happily, BUT trolleybus No87 escaped the breaker's yard and can be seen and ridden on at the Carlton Colville Transport Museum in East Anglia.
In addition to this, Ashton No80 (LTC774), a 1950 Crossley Empire TDD42 trolleybus can be found at the Museum of Transport at Boyle Street in Manchester. This vehicle is restored into its original 1950 livery, but is a static exhibit within the Museum along with Manchester, Crossley trolleybus 1250.
1344 is another surviving Manchester trolleybus. This restored BUT trolleybus currently resides at the Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum in South Yorkshire and belongs to the British Trolleybus Society.
My thanks to Peter Gould's informative website for much of the historical information concerning Ashton's trolleybus routes and Manchester's involvement.

Hand pictographs at the Fallen Roof ruin. Made by holding yheir hand up against the wall and blowing a mouthful of "pigment" through a hollow reed.
I'm hoping that:
1. The pigment lasted less time on their hands than it's lasted on this wall, and
2. That it was tasty pigment.

In Cuba car ownership is not very common. For those who do own a car, it is almost always used for a purpose, other than just recreation. Cars are usually used as official, semi-official or non-official taxis, to help recover the cost of ownership.
Cuban men are very talented and resourceful around mechanical equipment, skills learned out of necessity from their fathers and uncles!
In this photo are a well used Opel, Chevrolet and Lada!
This was taken in the small town of Guardalavaca in eastern Cuba. To the right is a regional elementary school, and in the background are a general store, a restaurant, a bar and a mall that has about eight shops.
Behind me are two nice snack bars/restaurants that serve quality foods.
Thanks for looking, etc.:)

Class 47 47818 was a regular visitor to Great Yarmouth under Cotswold Rail ownership, and continued it's association with the Wherry Lines after joining the DRS fleet. After visiting the Norfolk resort under the new operator for the first time on Saturday 3rd September 2011, the immaculate Type 4 is pictured working the mid-week 'short set' with partner 47810 Peter Bath MBE on the rear, before working the 1817 to Norwich.
I believe this is a Wasps nest. They looked quite a size but I don't think they were Hornets.
Seen on Laindon Common in Little Burstead.
Through ownership changes and plant expansions, paper mills are often a hodgepodge of mismatched additions and new nameplates slapped on top of old. I think that's why the IP corrugated shipping container plant stood out to me. Its silver edifice on the south side of Fond du Lac still looks straight out of the Mad Men era. I've always loved the Lester Beall designed logo (1958) and seeing it so large on the tallest part of the building is pretty cool. July 20, 2024.
Ownership of former Victorian Railways and V/Line unit B76 passed to private passenger operator West Coat Railway for use on Melbourne to Warnambool trains the mid-1990s.
Following the demise of WCR in 2004 it was picked up by CFCL Australia as a lease unit and continues to see occasional use in the Melbourne area on infrastructure trains for suburban operator MTM.
It was one of 25 EMD 567B-powered, double ended, broad gauge units built between 1951-1953 by Clyde Engineering for the Victorian Railways.
Although in EWS ownership, Class 56, No 56007 still in Transrail' markings as crosses Regent Road crossing, Bootle as in enters Liverpool Docks on - 6P62 05.51hrs WOJn to Seaforth CT "Cawoods" coal. With the exception of the rail line, it would be impossible to recreate this image as the crossing is no more, where I am standing is now part of a large warehouse site which covers the former Alexandra Dock sidings and clearly the train is no more either. On the bright side at least the second line at this location is now currently being reinstated. 2nd July 2001. (D.6730).
