L'Overland (Melbourne - Adelaide) en gare de Southern Cross à Melbourne; la locomotives est une CV40-9i (à écartement standard) de Pacific National. La voie où se trouve le train est une voie à écartement double (1435mm + 1600mm). Du gros luxe.
Enfin arrives, nous sommes soulages, fatigues et fiers d'avoir parcouru l'integralite de l' Overland Track, y compris cette derniere portion generalement remplacee par la traversee du lac en bateau.
Much of the overland track is planked... we often wonder if they had to completely destroy another forest to get all the wood for the planks that cover the track.
The mist was great after hiking in the heat. Waterfalls are one of my favs. Apparently these were not big enough for an American we met....size queen.
(No, actually he was a nice guy. Enjoyed sharing a beer with him.)
