The mist that had formed in the "Hartington Bowl" was overflowing south into the higher ground around Gateham Grange and gave some wonderful effects as it was caught by the early sun.

Always like the different colours and light that these conditions can create, even if they only last a few minutes
Have a good day!
Film Photography Podcast's Mr. Brown Low ISO film. This was not an easy film to shoot with or develop. ISO 6, and I couldn't find any recipes, so I winged it. And got it a bit wrong.
Having a house on stilts is a massively useful feature in the rainy season and times of flood. I imagine that the Chao Phraya River overflows its banks regularly at this point
From a sunrise shoot at Newcastle Beach with friend and Flickr photographer Archie McCafferty yesterday.
No clouds turned up so we had to make the most of some fairly bland conditions.

I therefore say that there is a spiritual light that floods over intelligible objects and over the mind’s eye—that is related to the interior eye and to intelligible objects just as the corporeal sun relates to the bodily eye and to corporeal visible objects.
-Translation by Katherine H. Tachau, “Seeing as Action and Passion in the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Centuries,” in The Mind’s Eye, 343.
When Francis and Clare gazed at an object, they absorbed it in ways unrealized even among religious people today; love came in at the eye. We barely pause long enough to consider ourselves, let alone to consider objects outside of our bodies. We will look at a sunset or some other piece of scenery, but we rarely gaze with what might be called the eyes of the soul, as saints once did.

These flower petals are like all the reasons why I love you, I hold them in my heart... to cherish, so beautiful. And often too many, overflowing= butterflies!
Lead and enjoy a good life, do and say things that enrich... and do not forget to tell the people close to you, how much you love them!
Thank you, M, (*_*)

I posted an image of this overflow earlier but I thought that despite the burnt out water this aerial image was also worth posting. This overspill is where excess water in the Grand Union Canal / Grand Junction Canal drains into the River Colne near Harefield.

First image of 2018 for me taken on New Years Day down at the often photographed location known as the "Beara Bowl". This magical rock formation can be found near the town of Allihies within the Beara Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Ripponden
Taken from the rather wet and muddy public footpath which descends at the side of the dam, to the bottom and then back up the other side. Or, if you don’t want to go back up and walk along the wall, you can take the path by the side of the river along towards the village. The recent storms, Ciara and Dennis have resulted in the massive overflow of water, the path has taken a beating too, much of it has been washed away and the wooden fencing blown over. It’s also rather damp in the bottom with all the spray from the water. I did notice though, more or less centre picture, some pink flowers just starting to bloom on a Rhododendron bush, they are out very early this year.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

The Oester reservoir, built by Professor Otto Intze at the beginning of the 20th century, overflows with abundant water from melting snow in the Ebbe Mountains.
