This is the outfall from Dovestones Reservoir, Chew Valley, Greenfield. The reservoir is also home to the local sailing club hence the safety fence to stop the sailors disappearing down the plug hole.

This was the first time I've seen a dam overflowing. It's a very impressive sight - like a huge manmade waterfall. I once lived for a year under a dam in Japan but never saw it overflowing like this.
A 2017 photo from the Upper Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park.

Less than three weeks ago this wetland overflow from the adjoining lake was topped with thinning ice and the edges of the pond had varying depths of snow on them. But when the ice and snow made a lingering departure, water rose nearly 10 feet in this pond and encroached on the paved road separating the pond from the normal swampy area on the other side.
However, yesterday’s sunrise seems to have forgiven everything negative it heard about our Minnesota winters and instead flooded an observer’s senses with the sweet foretaste of the warm days that will court us for a few months before once again disappointing our friendship with the return of the cold months.
But for now we don’t focus on what will eventually come again but instead on more immediate pleasures and in the ears of our heart if we are still, we can hear the hum of boats and the sound of fishing line whining through the air as the smell of hamburgers cooking on a grill near the lake mixes with children shrieks as they delight at the coldness of the splashing water.
(Photographed near Cambridge, MN)
A shot from January. The overflow only overflowed for 48 hours last year, and so far just 24 hours this year.
I have it set up to email me when the water level reaches a certain level. You have to drop everything and go as soon as you get the email because if you don't you'll miss it.

Tree and overflowing pond, Church Meadow, Maulden, Bedfordshire, 5 Feb 2021
On my daily dog walk.
Last October this was bone dry.
Now it is full.
The water level has risen by 15cm in the last 2 weeks. The land on the far (downhill) side is a now a swamp.
The water level only needs to rise by maybe 5cm before it comes over the top.
River Bela at Beetham Weir, nr Milnthorpe, Cumbria. The heavy rain in the area on 22/8/16 led to the river bursting its bank swamping the nearby waterfront.

Someone should be able to find the living God in Scripture—and this is His word—and then lead others to find him there, and all theology properly ends in contemplation and love and union with God—not ideas about Him and a set of rules about how to wear your hat. The Mass is the center of everything and in so far as it is Calvary it is the center of Scripture and the key to everything—history, everything. All the trouble going on now. (11.27.49 RJ 172)

Another seascape photograph from Troon, Scotland. Taken just as some sinister looking clouds were coming in.
CSX Y10115 pulls a cut of cars through Beech Street on their way to Grafton. The yard was plugged full of trains on this morning, and several coal and carload trains were parked on the west side of town awaiting space to enter.
The rivers are full and oveflowing this year causing tremendous flow over our local waterfalls. ... a portion of Inglis Falls is captured here

Oddly enough, but in the desert sometimes came across small lakes overflowing with fish. The fish in the photo was caught in half an hour using a leaky bucket
