Golden lights in a snowy morning over the frozen Lake Olkkajärvi, Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland.
It was -12 C in this cold and snowy morning, the lake was frozen and there were some snowmobils and sledges overthere.

Happy weekend everyone!
With the setting sun over my shoulder the Mersey Bluff Lighthouse is being illuminated by the final rays of sunlight. Soon the moonlight will take over. As if on cue, a seagull appears to fly over the moon.

I must admit, I didn't see the rainbow when I took the photo and you have to look closely to see it now.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh, why can't I?

Since the COVID-19 lockdown, about a month ago here in Ontario, I have not been out for sunrise photos. So the other morning, I decided to get up, and head over to a natural park just around the corner from my home. This bridge crosses over the Little River, which flows through the small park on its way to the Detroit River. If you look closely, you can also see the buds on the bushes by the river are beginning to burst open.

As I made it up Doddick Fell's initial steep grassy slope onto the bottom of its broad ridge I was blessed with a very brief burst of sunshine. As I crested the slope I was gobsmacked to see a complete rainbow - below me, I stood transfixed for a moment before fumbling for the camera safely stowed from the rain in my coat. Thankfully I got off a couple of shots before the sun and rainbow disappeared from sight.
The sky line (top left) is Hall's Fell ridge which scores a bulls-eye on Blencathra's summit (actually Hall's Fell Top).
