A field of unkept long grass with a treeline on the horizon and a towering single tree in the middle of the scene. Taken at Nene Park, Cambridgeshire on a bright winters afternoon with the sun throwing pockets of light on the grass in different areas.
I like how the lightning followed the tops of the saguaro cactus. It even dipped down into the space between them. I took this photo at the trail head to Sabino Canyon north of Tucson Arizona.

so what is it when we both know?
so what is it when we both know?
what have we become?
oh, I keep forgetting
oh, I'm waiting for nothing
I can trace my outline
on the city down below
a part of you is leaving
and we both know, we both know
I figured it would change
forget our golden age
oh, it never was
now you're a foreign land
I don't understand
oh, what have we become?
oh, I keep forgetting
oh, I'm waiting for nothing
I can trace my outline
on the city down below
a part of you is leaving
and we both know, we both know
Sam... *hugs*
Full disclosure. I did a lot of messing about in Lightroom to create this image. I had gone out trying to get some backlit images of Red Deer, with their outlines illuminated by the setting sun. I managed to get into the right line to photograph this doe with a Readybrek outline. But there was also quite a lot of backlit grass in the scene. So I've not only boosted contrast and shadows, but also cloned out all of the backlit grass. I'm going to try to capture the effect over the coming weeks without the need for so much digital jiggery pokery. Original image taken on Big Moor, Derbyshire.

Confidently lost
Comfortably indulging
And trying to get to know me
I'm just an outline of what I used to be
Constantly evolving
Steadily revolving
I am confidently lost
I don't need you to find me
You don't define me
I am confidently lost
I don't need you to find me
Cause I'm not hiding
Made up of hope and meditation
Love, imagination water my creations
Baby it's amazing
All the days I'm facing
Nothing seems to phase me
Cause I
I am confidently lost
I don't need you to find me
Cause I know how it is
Anything
Thinking about where I've gone
Where I'm going
And I wouldn't change it for the world
Thinking about where I'm from
If I belong there
But I wouldn't change it for anything
(I wouldn't change it for anything)

An overly processed shot of our beach are. It is so much fun to manipilate the normal looking shots.

The White House is a building and National Heritage Site in Rotterdam, Netherlands, built in 1898 in the Art Nouveau style. The building is 43 m (141 ft) tall, with 10 floors. [1] It was also the first high-rise building in Europe. The building is listed as a Rijksmonument.
Construction
The architect Willem Molenbroek designed the 10-storey building, at the time an unprecedented height in Europe. The site at Wijnhaven 3 is just 1 m above sea-level and skeptics claimed that the soft soil of Rotterdam would be unable to adequately support the building, so before construction could properly begin, 1000 piles were driven into the ground to support the building's weight. The building is constructed from iron, steel and concrete, and includes two thick interior walls which increase the building's strength. Unlike many other contemporary buildings of the time, wood was not a significant construction material due to the fear of fire. The building cost 127,900 Dutch guilders.
It was also one of the few buildings in central Rotterdam to survive the German bombing campaigns of World War II.

This evocative photograph captures a quintessential California twilight scene in Los Gatos. Two stately palm trees stand like sentinels against a breathtaking sky, their silhouettes stark and dramatic. The sky is a canvas of nature's artistry, with billowing clouds painted in soft hues of gold and pink by the setting sun. The contrast between the deep blue of the fading day and the warm, illuminated clouds creates a striking visual harmony. In the foreground, the shadowy outlines of rooftops and trees hint at the town below, grounding the image in its suburban setting. This snapshot encapsulates the serene beauty of a Los Gatos evening, where the meeting of man-made landscapes and natural wonders creates a moment of tranquil magnificence. The image invites viewers to pause and appreciate the daily spectacle of sunset in this charming Bay Area town, reminding us of the simple yet profound beauty that surrounds us.
On the ground are the outlines of an Etruscan temple, from the 5th century BC - and this is the Etruscan town of Kainua (at modern-day Marzabotto). Today it's an extensive, excavated area and a museum with some of the more interesting finds.
(We visited on an extremely hot day - not to recommend.)

'RAGGED ROUND THE EDGES.'
A very obliging Comma that basked on an Oak twig for ages. I made a cautious approach and got within a couple of feet of it, then made various images. It never flinched once which was a real bonus! Only when I started to move away did it take flight. Made for a nice encounter on a local lockdown walk. :-))
