Previously this bathroom had a wooden shelf above the toilet.

The shelf felt very outdated and wasn't serving any purpose other than to collect dust. The shelf was also a darker wood.

Due to the very small size of this bathroom I switched out the shelf for some artwork that would play-up the wall border that the homeowner loves.

The artwork adds more light to the room since the glass is very reflective, and the picture includes gold tones. It was a very cost effective and easy update to this bathroom that made a big impact.

There are not many of these stores left, but this outdated Shoppers Drug Mart store is still kind of cool. It was once known as Big M Mart and is located at 5-3012 17 Avenue SE in Calgary.

LOMO Compact test. Made with LCA and outdated Kodak Gold-200

Well, I revisited this on July 18, 2010, and well, its gone. :(

The Clipper became outdated as the new envelope bodies started appearing, led by Studebaker and Kaiser-Frazer. Although Packard was in good financial condition as the war ended, they had not sold enough cars to pay the cost of tooling for the 1941 design. While most automakers were able to introduce new vehicles for 1948 and 1949, Packard could not until 1951. The company updated cars by adding new sheet metal to the existing body (which added 200 lb (91 kg) of curb weight). Six-cylinder cars were discontinued for the U.S. market, and a convertible was added. These new designs hid their relationship with the Clipper. Even that name was dropped for a while.

The design chosen was a "bathtub" type. While this was considered futuristic during the war and the concept was taken further with the 1949 Nash, and survived for decades in the Saab 92–96 in Europe, the 1948–1950 Packard styling was polarizing. To some, it was sleek and blended classic with modern. Others nicknamed it the "pregnant elephant".

Packard sold 2,000 vehicles in 1948 and a total of 116,000 of the 1949 models. In the early post-WWII years, the demand for new cars was extremely high, and nearly any vehicle would sell. Attempting to maintain strong sales beyond this point would prove more problematic.

Cadillac's new 1948 cars had sleek, aircraft-inspired styling that immediately made Packard's "bathtub" styling seem old-fashioned. Cadillac also debuted a brand-new OHV V8 engine in 1949 whereas Packard's lack of a modern engine became an increasing liability.

Packard outsold Cadillac until circa 1950; most sales were the midrange volume models. During this time, Cadillac was among the earliest US makers to offer an automatic transmission (the Hydramatic in 1941). Packard caught up with the Ultramatic, offered on top models in 1949 and all models from 1950 onward, but its perceived market reputation now had it as a competitor to Buick.

One of the ironies about Packard is their carriage trade customer base, then and now. Packard went broke selling cars to wealthy people. Rich folks drove Packards and after the marque’s demise in the late 1950s, rich folks continued to collect Packards. In particular, the prewar Packards today are among the most valuable classic American cars there are, with restored models easily fetching six and seven figure prices.

Some images I shot with a super outdated film roll that came out totally weird. Basically they were all red and I decided to turn them into b/w so there would be at least something to identify.

And on another note: The day I shot this film it was suuuuper foggy due to heavy smog in Paris (read more here: Paris offers free public transport to reduce severe smog ), which totally contributed to the worn out look of these pictures.

I have had my fair issues with BT over the years, especially the past 3 months where my line has been disconnected twice, and cost me days in working time.

Alas it seems another BT Openworld Engineer is at work today in the BT manhole outside.

Just check that mess of wires.

When considering re-wiring a home, it is imperative use a trusted residential electrician specialist like Boss Energy. Since wiring is often not directly visible to you, it is crucial to ensure it is installed correctly in order to prevent safety hazards. Rewiring existing electric systems is often required if a home or business owner want to meet building codes or your structure has begun to show signs of electrical issues.

Signs Your Home Needs to Be Rewired

There are several symptoms of a need for rewiring with varying degrees of severity that home owners should pay attention to and hire a professional residential electrician:

Charred or discolored outlets

Fuses that trip or blow often

A burning smell or crackling coming from an outlet

Flickering or dimming of lights

Loose outlets

Electrical shock

Keeping an eye out for these symptoms is key to keeping your home or business safe. If you have noticed your electricity behaving strangely, it’s best to call a professional with experience in safe rewiring. Our certified residential electricians are trained to inspect wiring and determine if your current electrical system meet safety requirements. We are able to assess any issues that may be addressed by installing new wiring. We always discuss repair options with you in order to provide a solution that works best with your budget.

Benefits of Rewiring Older Homes

Homes that predate the 1970s usually have outdated, unsafe electrical systems. These old systems are likely to have serious problems like an electrical short or fire. It’s important to pay special attention when living in an older home because our modern-day electrical devices use more power than what these older systems were intended to handle and are likely to cause issues. By rewiring your home, you’re taking proactive steps towards better protecting your property and your family from electric-related safety issues.

Other Benefits of Rewiring

If you choose to have your system rewired, it’s easy to notice a difference in performance and maintenance. It’s much easier to flick a switch on the circuit breaker than to replace a fuse. Your outlets won’t become overloaded or heat up when more than one electrical device is plugged in.

You’ll also save money after your new wiring is installed. Your new wiring will lower the cost of homeowner’s insurance by decreasing safety risks, increasing energy efficiency, and improve amperage.

Thank you so very much for your interest in Clean Bread and Cheese Creek. Unfortunately the heavy rains of the spring and the areas outdated stormwater management controls of our community has clogged this historic stream with trash. We can certainly use all as many volunteers as possible of all ages and abilities and we look forward to the possibility of working with you! We are all aware of the importance the health of the Chesapeake Bay hold to all Maryland Residents. Those who grew up in this area remember a different creek entirely, one teeming with frogs, crayfish, and minnows – a place where many a child spent long summer days happily playing. It is our goal to bring back that stream, not for me, not just for the residents that live along it, but for everyone who reaps the benefits of the Chesapeake Bay. We are a group of volunteers working with the community, National Public Lands Day, the Ocean Conservancy, American Rivers, Trash Free Maryland, as well as other organizations to clean up Bread and Cheese Creek.

Please mark your calendars for our next cleanup on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Rain or Shine, as the day and time we clean up the section of Bread and Cheese Creek from the Berkshire Area to North Point Road. Registration will be at 2408 Plainfield Road, Dundalk, MD 21222. This event will be run in conjunction with the International Ocean Conservancy as part of their International Coastal Cleanup Event.

We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them

Our cleanups are part of an ongoing effort clean the entire stream by 2014 in preparation for the War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration. (Bread and Cheese Creek will be receiving two historic plaques on the Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail) The creek played a rather significant part in the Battle of North Point which took place on September 12, 1814. Both the American and British Troops camped along its banks, the American troops using is as a rallying point. It is rumored that the young heroes Daniel Wells (19) and Henry McComas (18) used the stream channel to sneak up on British General Robert Ross killing him with their muskets before being killed in return fire. This important part of our history should not be left the eyesore it currently is.

You can learn more about us and keep up to date through our website at: www.BreadandCheeseCreek.org ; become our friend on FaceBook, follow us on Twitter, and Google+. You can also see photos of our past cleanups on Flickr and our videos on YouTube. You can also subscribe to our Electronic Newsletter.

If you have any comments or questions please contact us. Thank you again for your interest and we hope to see you in the stream!
