Looks Scary
Well its definitely old and outdated. In fact, you might even say there's no way this is in operation and that its a doctors office here in #losangeles but it is.
This is the office and exam room of my hernia surgeon. Don't let the looks fool you and we all know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
I'll admit I did judge the book and was concerned for my safety during the exam and wondering if I should seek another doctor. Coincidentally, this was the doctor scheduled to remove my one hernia before covid. I now have two hernias and not a spleen that's retaining blood which @lacuscmedical diagnosed me and stated I refused care. Good thing I did because my spleen is just fine.
I will have my first surgery next month and 3 months later the second hernia will be removed. I've mentioned my new primary care doctor, Dr. William King, and amazing staff. I have entirely new doctors and specialists. I'm no longer in clinic care and things are getting better.
Most of all, I'm living again after being convinced, treated like, and told I was going to die. The only reason I was going to die was because of all the lousy care I was receiving from @lacarehealth and @lacuscmedical backed my Medi-Cal.
So while this office may look outdated and scary, not changing my insurance, demanding new doctors and specialists, I'd be near death or dead. This is beyond outdated and scary.
.. then Mi shot the picture of me that she had wanted to.

There is a cliché: "laughter is the very best medicine." But why is this a cliché? Why has this outdated adage held true for thus long? Let's take a look at the health benefits of laughter.
Have you ever heard someone laughing and, though you didn't know what they had been laughing about, you couldn't help yourself and joined in on the laughter? Some say it's more contagious than a yawn or cold, but it is a good thing! Who desires a cold or desires to yawn? Laughing is one of the most fun activities a person can have interaction in. Not only does it relax your entire body and relieve physical stress and tension, but it can also help enhance your immune system by lowering the amount of stress hormones in your body. It can also help enhance the antibodies that can help fight infections in your body.
While you snort, it triggers a release of endorphins. These are your body's "feel-good" chemical substances and may help enhance your sense of well-being and belonging. They'll even quickly relieve pain and other discomfort! Plus, while you snort, it can help along with your blood vessel's capabilities: it can enhance blood move, which, in turn, may help stop heart attacks and other heart problems.
And when you can snort even while you're upset or depressed, the laughter can really help lift your mood. It can assist you feel emotionally linked to other folks (even ones you don't know!), and it can also assist you acquire a more optimistic and optimistic outlook on life. And while you share a joke with a bunch of people, it can help energy the emotional bonds you share with them.
Have you ever heard of laughter yoga? It is also often called "hasyayoga" and it's yoga that includes prolonged classes of voluntary laughter. Certain, it would sound unusual to force yourself to snort, but usually, compelled laughter becomes real laughter. It can help enhance the amount of oxygen that goes to your brain and body because you also embody yogic respiratory exercises. Laughter yoga may help people who are experiencing mood problems like despair, plus it can help enhance one's sense of belonging to a group.
So take the time to snort at yourself, the world, the situations you find yourself in or, really, for any reason you want! You may have a very good time and help improve your mental and physical health.

I bet you haven't seen such an outdated Canadian Tire store in a while. This store was located at 6275 Rue St. Laurent in the Montréal area.
The Clipper became outdated as the new envelope bodies started appearing, led by Studebaker and Kaiser-Frazer. Although Packard was in good financial condition as the war ended, they had not sold enough cars to pay the cost of tooling for the 1941 design. While most automakers were able to introduce new vehicles for 1948 and 1949, Packard could not until 1951. The company updated cars by adding new sheet metal to the existing body (which added 200 lb (91 kg) of curb weight). Six-cylinder cars were discontinued for the U.S. market, and a convertible was added. These new designs hid their relationship with the Clipper. Even that name was dropped for a while.
The design chosen was a "bathtub" type. While this was considered futuristic during the war and the concept was taken further with the 1949 Nash, and survived for decades in the Saab 92–96 in Europe, the 1948–1950 Packard styling was polarizing. To some, it was sleek and blended classic with modern. Others nicknamed it the "pregnant elephant".
Packard sold 2,000 vehicles in 1948 and a total of 116,000 of the 1949 models. In the early post-WWII years, the demand for new cars was extremely high, and nearly any vehicle would sell. Attempting to maintain strong sales beyond this point would prove more problematic.
Cadillac's new 1948 cars had sleek, aircraft-inspired styling that immediately made Packard's "bathtub" styling seem old-fashioned. Cadillac also debuted a brand-new OHV V8 engine in 1949 whereas Packard's lack of a modern engine became an increasing liability.
Packard outsold Cadillac until circa 1950; most sales were the midrange volume models. During this time, Cadillac was among the earliest US makers to offer an automatic transmission (the Hydramatic in 1941). Packard caught up with the Ultramatic, offered on top models in 1949 and all models from 1950 onward, but its perceived market reputation now had it as a competitor to Buick.
One of the ironies about Packard is their carriage trade customer base, then and now. Packard went broke selling cars to wealthy people. Rich folks drove Packards and after the marque’s demise in the late 1950s, rich folks continued to collect Packards. In particular, the prewar Packards today are among the most valuable classic American cars there are, with restored models easily fetching six and seven figure prices.
Typically, because outdated film requires overexposure to get decent contrast on the negative, it's best used in bright light so as to have the ability to shoot at relatively fast shutter speeds. For example, because I rated the film at ISO 2, I had to shoot this at about 1/30th of a second at 4.0 (almost wide open). Which meant that when this woman moved, I didn't get a particularly sharp photo.

Outdated kitchen gets a complete make over. Gone is the drop ceiling, beige cabinets, fake yellow brick backsplash, florescent lighting and short upper cabinets.
NOTE: THIS IS NOW OUTDATED
I had a DEEP HATRED INTEREST to kidz bop for a ver long time.
hated it when Kidz Bop takes a song and ruins the lyrics and make it approrpiate for soccer moms.
Most of these songs in those CDs are HIGHLY INAPPRORIATE for kids! Now I mean LYRICS DO MATTER when it comes to music.
Especially when some of the songs have sexual and drugs and alochol themes as well as a lot of swearing.
Since when is it ok for those people to buy this crap. Those are soccer mom proof.
Go listen to Metallica, AC/DC, Queen, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and other good artists and bands than this crap.

The KG uses an outdated taxonomy for this one. By just about everybody, the race pectoralis formerly associated with the so-called Hodgson's Hawk-Cuckoo (fugax) has been split including Arne, Des, and I, who are following the Howard & Moore taxonomy for this bird. So, we are listing an endemic species, Philippine Hawk-Cuckoo (Cuculus pectoralis).
Of the other large so-called Hawk-Cuckoos, we are also listing the nominate race Large Hawk-Cuckoo (Cuculus s. sparverioides) . There is also the possibility, but open to confirmation, i.e., we need photo-documentation of non-calling bird outside of the breeding season as winter migrants, for race hyperythrus. This race is sometimes still associated with C. fugax, and sometimes split as a species in its' own right, i.e., Cuculus hyperythrus (Northern Hawk-Cuckoo) . Therefore, since the occurance of hyperythrus in Phils is still up in the air, and since pectoralis has now been split, we really could just completely omit the species account in the KG for Hodgson's Hawk-Cuckoo, and replace it with Philippine Hawk-Cuckoo (Cuculus pectoralis).
I have passed for consideration the links for some of Neon's photos to Des, for the separation of the birds that appear to me to show more nuchal white than should be expected for pectoralis. In other words, I want to make sure that it is not hyperythrus, which we are still trying to find in the Philippines.
Cheers,
Steve
P.S. Of the smorgasbord of the 4 cuckoos initially thought to have been photographed, I can see surely only two species, i.e., Cuculus pectoralis, and Cacomantis variolosus sepulcralis (adults and immatures). The only remaining question is for those birds with the nuchal white that I have just mentioned above. They are probably all pectoralis, but I want to make sure.
Test shot with SX-70 lens in Compur shutter (more on that later).
Film is Polacolor 59 exp. 2000.
This shot says not much on the quality of the lens as the camera was shaking due to a flimsy tripod.

A man had a big collection of international outdated currency for sale, near the Roman Amphitheater in Amman downtown.
He had some spread out on the floor, and the more valuable ones in albums.
I couldn't help but stop and have a look...
Some images I shot with a super outdated film roll that came out totally weird. Basically they were all red and I decided to turn them into b/w so there would be at least something to identify.
And on another note: The day I shot this film it was suuuuper foggy due to heavy smog in Paris (read more here: Paris offers free public transport to reduce severe smog ), which totally contributed to the worn out look of these pictures. You could barely see the Eiffel Tower :)
