Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupè (James Young) - 1939

A chestnut brown male horse fixes us with a stare at Kastraki, a village beneath Meteora, Greece, seen in the background. He gracefully swishes his bushy tail, as if he were hailing us in his own way.

In the springtime happiness blooms, even during the Holy Week. There is an explosion of colours. Wild flowers and rich grass form a canvas on which Life itself is bursting with energy and excitement. Animals and plants get to take part in overwhelming joy; we, humans, should join nature, shouldn't we?

The photograph breaks a rule requiring religious elements to pictorially co-exist with Meteora, on top of which Greek Orthodox monasteries are perched. So, a pastoral composition was unconventionally shot, instead of one reflecting religious mood.

The colt is the leading element of the photograph, so the photograph's title is:

“A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!”

Vienna has tons of palaces and medieval buildings but it also has a very modern hip side. This off center office cube is near the central transit station CAT. The architect must have had fun playing with blocks, cubes and legos as a kid.

A few pics from the Robbie Williams show at the O2 Arena.

My daughter has been asking for a long time now to look at my wedding dress. With this weeks prompt out of the box coordinating with my wedding anniversary it seemed like a great time to let her try it on!!

I've decided to start another 52 weeks project, because I can use some motivation to keep creating. =)

The introduction of ULEZ on 25th October meant this was our last excursion to Acton dump. The "Re-use and Recycling Centre" will, in any event, close the end of November.

( bron: wikipedia )

More Shaped Bokeh. Totally defocused. And a nod to the Two Ronnies sketch..

When noise music and classical opera meet: Monica Vlad is an experimental audio/visual artist who creates a noise composition based on opera using a live soprano voice interpreted by Johanna Falkinger. The structure is based on three different arias sung by her although these arias were not originally composed for this opera. Similar to the system of an Aria di Baule – a so-called suitcase or insertion aria – the singer is choosing the arias to be sung. In addition, the sound artist Monica Vlad changes the orchestral accompaniment to electronic noise and the classical instruments are replaced by analog machines. The arias, however, are interpreted by the soprano as original.

The theme of this performance is based on feelings of melancholy, sadness, fear of loss, meditation and anger and how music can be used to express and release these emotions.
