To get here we had to drive through a rather hair raising single lane, unlit tunnel. You can probably spot the entrance in the mountain on the left. One way in, one way out. Probably not a good place to be during a zombie apocolypse.

The hike across Ponta de São Lourenço is easily one of the most breathtaking experiences on the island. No trees, just raw volcanic landscape, salt-spray air, and views that stretch on forever. It’s a bit of a trek, but every step is worth it for a view like this.

If you go, bring plenty of water and a windbreaker—the Atlantic breeze doesn’t play around! @Visit Madeira

A village on the island of Vágar, this was our first stop before the quite scary Gásadalstunnilin (a single lane tunnel with traffic going both ways).

What an incredible beautiful morning this was. You can really see why the waterfall has this very fitting name when you experience the rays of the sun hitting the fall in the morning.
