A sunrise that reminded me why it’s always worth going out, even when the forecast says otherwise 🌅

I almost stayed home this morning. The weather didn’t look promising and the light felt like a gamble. But Llyn Padarn had other plans. Soft mist drifting over the water, perfect reflections, and a calm that wrapped around everything as the sky slowly came to life.

Standing here in the stillness, I felt a deep sense of peace and clarity. Moments like this can’t be predicted. They’re earned by showing up. Being out, waiting, trusting the process will always beat staying home wondering what if.

Sometimes the most perfect conditions are the ones you never expect.

Throughout the years I've seen people out and about with their dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, horses and rats. And it made me happy to see that the list of animals that are taken for an outing is growing.

Fun on Nordals!

Mountains and skies forever. This gorgeous view was all ours, my 14 year old daughter's and mine, with no one else around at the top of Fortune Peak, Central Cascades. This picture is a few years old now, but I'm starting to get the climbing itch again and it brought me back to my old archives.

This photo op required ground placement of my camera propped by a couple rocks to shoot up hill using the 10-second timer. Got it on the first take. It took a bit of searching to identify the flower but pretty sure this is it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipterostemon

Neighbors Mill, Alabama. Due lack of rainfall, the water flow was very low. This falls is is easy to get to but difficult to climb around in. Marked as one to return to.

One of the largest ammunition plants in the United States during World War II was located at the little town of Prairie, Mississippi. This is there telephone headquarters.

Inside this old abandoned school. Not much left. Nature is taking over rather steadily.
