An optimistic great grey heron fishing in the River Dodder in south Dublin.
There's a lot of Lightroom colour editing on this one. I changed the white balance to fluorescent and then used the circular mask tool to remove the blue from the heron and a second time to darken a bright white glare from one the rocks. Then a few more general tweaks on shadows and highlights.

In a more optimistic version, after the Flood, the sun shines again and gives warm, golden hues to the water reflections and the background. But the clock is ticking, the wait has been long and nature has been far too forgiving. Remember, there is NO planet B.
"Auntie Emily, are you a famous climber?". In front of the climbing wall staff 😂 God, I love my nephews.

“I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.”

After I cut my little applte tree much to much in the year before last year and it had a break in case of apples, its looking much better this year. I’m quite optimistic, that I will have something to pick.

An optimistic Short-eared Owl on the prowl at dusk.
Conditions for this image were challenging. The setting sun was on the horizon and the barely visible subject about 250 feet away, flying at full speed.
Considered rare for this area and time of the year.
One of these days, or years, I am going to get to photograph this location in perfect conditions. Near Tibbermore in Perthshire, Scotland.
And crawl against the tide
Walk a hot coal, you don't get blisters
'Cause it's all inside your mind, blind eyes are only for tonight
There are no guarantees
Don't know what tomorrow brings
Though are promise is weed
Oh, we know what will be, will be
A sense of "almost" normalcy has arrived finally. Time to make up for lost time..speak your own mind...don't listen to negative people...be optimistic....make your own decisions. Ignore social media. Life is what you make it.

The Christians tend to celebrate Easter-peopled-ness,
not in any proud or holier-than-thou manner,
but as an optimistic promise
resurrection-claiming
Holy Week unwinding
Lent minimizing
kind of way.
But, we are all an Easter people,
at least we Canadians
save those in Victoria or Point Pelee.
Everywhere else, in this often frigid place,
and some of those Scandinavian places too,
Siberia maybe, and Greenland (ha!),
we and they are Easter people.
We live the life of rebirth,
relife, rekindled in our frozen ground,
crocus, snowdrop, scilla,
poking through winter’s death
every early Spring.

May it be bright and beautiful for us all :-)
This optimistic American goldfinch male is starting to grow his golden spring plumage in even if the weather still looks and feels like winter here at Lake Meyer Park. The ground is pure white as I write this tonight.
I heard a politician say in a news report earlier today that we may be more or less back to normal by the summer. I really really really hope he is correct but my brain simply can not compute that information. It just doesn't seem possible from where I am sitting today, reading the grim daily statistics and listening on the radio to the arguments, accusations, and political point scoring. But who knows, lets give that optimistic politician the benefit of the doubt and so I present a little bit of Summer Freedom. We all need some pink clouds in our lives.
The last straw on the camel's back, perhaps ?
For quite a few days, we don't have any new covid cases locally here in Hong Kong. But yesterday, we had 15 and 13 of them were imported from Nepal. And it subsequently dawned on me that many rich Indians rushed to Nepal to get Sinovac vaccine in order to gain entry into China, obviously a place they deem to be safer, well, at least for the time being. How many of them will succeed I don't know and I certainly wish more of them can stay healthy.
It doesn't need any expert or scholar to tell us that the situation in India is dire and that even with the fullest help from China, from the whole of the West including Russia would not be able to help much. Meanwhile, the most vulnerable countries, other than Nepal, would be Pakistan, Bangladesh and even Malaysia and Singapore where they have a huge proportion of Indian populations where interactions remain strong. I'm not too optimistic about Canada either for even US have banned them from entry since. Likewise, UK has also found numerous such mutants there, and then US which now allow their residents to travel abroad after vaccination and like it or not, China wouldn't be left unscathed.
Yet, India has declined any help from China and even those from WHO. It soon revealed that only yesterday, her PM was busy engaging in a talk with his counterpart in Japan as how to "contain" China ! Needless to say, he is still encouraging his people to come up and vote for him! Is he any different from D. Trump at all ? No wonder we wantonly have Macabre as an art theme...
This little Blue Tit looks happy that it is a sunny day but he is apprehensive about the long winter ahead. Living in the UK I know how he feels... never trust a Politician.
Strengths: Courageous, determined, confident, enthusiastic, optimistic, honest, passionate
Weaknesses: Impatient, moody, short-tempered, impulsive, aggressive
well... the strengths outweigh the weaknesses... haha!
An optimistic Monday afternoon. The weather forecast looked promising for the clouds to break up just enough for a nice sunset. Unfortunately it wasn't too be. It did provide some interesting, muted copper and blues in the sky though.
This image is a homemade smile for today's theme. It's a wooden, big plate with different types of stones for the eyes, ears, nose and mouth and a little touch of Lycopodium as hair on the left side. I gave it a little black hair image too. Having fun is all there is to this image, hope it can brighten up your day too 😁
Happy Smile on Saturday to you all!💝
The candle glows
A bright encouraging molten gold
The light filling our heart
Imparting happiness
An optimistic feel
Lending a fiery liveliness
Radiant even in sad times
Cheering us up when blue
Expanding small hearts
Into an ocean of generosity
Yet when the light wanes
Charring the milky white wick
Almost drooping like a dog’s ears
Enveloped by dying smoke
Gradually darkening like the summer night sky
With its light no more
Pessimism invades
Depressing, boring black
Adding a frown, gloominess and melancholy
The magic evading, leaving us belittled.
