I'm adding this high key abstract of a water lily on a day when optimism is needed. In Egypt and Asia, the water lily has often symbolized rebirth and optimism. We here in California are voting in the primary elections for the next President of the United States of America. It has been a long battle.
Our media has betrayed our trust and the election has been bought, but we are still fighting for the truthful candidate. I know through Facebook that many citizens of other countries are fighting along side of us to try to elect Bernie Sanders so you are probably aware of this battle that is waging in the United States.
My state is huge and will have a big influence on the election. Let's hope the honest and compassionate candidate wins. Here's to the rebirth of the American dream!!!! Taken in a lily pond in the biggest democracy in the world India!
that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so :-)

Shelter in Place, San Francisco, California
It's a dreary day in San Francisco. Though we need the rain, it's hard thing to wake up to. I'm glad it stopped long enough for me to sneak out into the garden for a photo, but I'm back inside, wrapped in a blanket, waiting for the sun to reappear as I read more stunning headlines. In my waking hours I believe we can get through this. I am heartened by the signs of new life that peek out among the ferns.
“The true optimist not only expects the best to happen, but goes to work to make the best happen. The true optimist not only looks upon the bright side, but trains every force that is in him to produce more and more brightness in his life….”

Did I hear something?...just now, in my awakening moment
a plausible reason for optimism and hope's commencement
perhaps? as the guitar fades to eastern chimes and dreams
reminded of proverbs that lay seige to my pain and screams
a release of tension and a desperate search for attention
in the lingering corridor of breaking bones pitiful echoed detention
a window view becomes the respite of eastern promise and delight
the Sun, the blossom, and the branch of hope in clearing fog and plight
perchance, a moment to seize upon for this mood uncommitted
as I make my first tentative move, the pain is immediately readmitted
within it's clutches, wailing has been banned to my furthest poles
oceans of swimming hurt, and currents of pressure points and lost souls
waiting in the wings for a silvery flight to stage and take my might
away and plunder every slightest element of progress and hope I may recite
yet, lost I am not, unbelievably sunlight is the burner of thoughts dark,
the ashes of which remain, momentarily, for all to see the fading spark
of truth, that slumber is forever, and blinkered is the dream that lives
not so! for the dream was built on experience, and survives all it gives
it is a tango of world renown, a gamelan for the touring thought within
the samisen for reflection and this distant violin for a deeper chagrin
and the thrum of loose-fitting emotion in the overcoming of hardships
sailing the mind encountering hurts as they may find in such relationships
stern in the test of endurance, to the bow of warm, equatorial politeness-
beating beneath the operated shell of a body long-seeking brightness
in a world of imaginative roominess and claustrophobic reality
a space exists for me to thrive, for my life becomes one of complete musicality
in nature's precepts so true I lean my aching being, the isthmus I cross;
surgical endurance; a sumpsimus for every unspoken pain we come across.

Finally finding time to pick the camera up again. Liked the light play in the green stones. Also thought the 'light' theme was cool, because Garbo is doing much, much better!

This is an image from last year, but I think that it typifies the mood that things might just be getting better as the weather is improving, and the restrictions placed on many of us are starting to be eased. It is a multiple exposure of 2 shots combined in camera. Canon 5D MkIII, Canon 24-105mm f4L IS - ISO100:f4.5:1/500sec
