Lots of oppurtunities to shoot Svein last night, as he broke from the pack and lapped the field, once, and then almost twice. Impressive.

Bhakti Summer Sangha 2016
The second year of the Bhakti Summer Sangha was a great success, as it gave an oppurtunity to the younger generations to explore spirituality and practice activities such as meditation, kirtan, satsang, seva, and much more among their own peers.
The Summer Sangha has a schedule built around the 9 forms of Bhakti, so that each day the kids and young adults a taste of each of the forms of devotion. The participants are getting a chance to participate in workshops on music, on meditation, and throughout everything, on building a deeper and sweeter relationship to God - in the Guru, in His many many avatars, in the people, and especially within themselves.

Best Buddies Friendship Ball 2010 Roaring Twenties at the beautiful Dubsdread Country Club. The mission of Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates oppurtunities for one-to one freindships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
An annual highlight of Florida's programs it is a favorite for many of the participants. This dance is a prom-like event that is put on by the staff every spring in all five Best Buddies Florida cities for the high school and college programs.
On a visit to Hohenwerfen Fortress we visted the bird of pray flight show. It was a fabulous show with lots of fantastic birds, and a great oppurtunity to practice on photographing these big and agile birds.
Unfortunatly the light was really challenging forcing me to high ISO (up to 1600), which my D5000 is not that fond of. That said, 5 minutes after the show ended, it started raining - so all in all we were pretty lucky.
For this I hand held using my Nikon 18-200mm VRII @ 200mm. Cropped out about 50%
Early rise in Tunisia and decided to head to the beach to watch the sunrise, which did not amount to anything. But did create this oppurtunity.
Tom Hall played at Harvest Sessions on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Harvest Sessions is presented by KDHX Community Media, The Whitaker Foundation and Tower Grove Farmers' Market and takes place every Saturday at the West Pool Pavilion in Tower Grove Park for the duration of Tower Grove Farmers' Market's regular season. Tom Hall has been performing for over twenty years and has won national and local acclaim for his exceptional blues guitar work. Harvest Sessions is free and open to the public.
Tom Hall has played in countless bands, but his solo performances truly capture audiences. He wanders through the sounds of Argentina, Ireland and Africa, but he always returns to his musical roots. When he is playing Mississippi-inspired blues, he shines like his signature National guitar. If you have not yet seen Hall play live, don't miss this oppurtunity to catch one of St. Louis' most talented artists.
The 2007 inaugural season of Harvest Sessions has featured great concerts from local and regional performers. With Tower Grove Farmers' Market as the backdrop, Harvest Sessions also hosted an International and Children's Series that proved very popular in the community. KDHX Community Media, The Whitaker Foundation and Tower Grove Farmers' Market are proud to sponsor this free concert series on Saturday morning.

The 'Wonderlijke Klim' exhibition or wondrous climb' gives visitors what might be a once in a lifetime oppurtunity to see the 96 unique sculptures on the flying butresses of the Sint Janskathedraal in (saint John's cathedral) in 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch). The Sint Jan is only one of four cathedrals in the world to have such sculptures. Instead of saints or angels, they depict monsters and common city people, from the architects and masons who worked on the cathedral, to beggars and musicians.
The 'wonderlijke klim' exhibition coincides with the grand Jheronymous Bosch exhibition at the Noord-Brabants Museum in Den Bosch, celebrating the 500th anniversary of the painter's death. Like the paintings of Bosch, the sculptures on the cathedral butresses are from the late middle ages, and depict monsters and common folk, which was a new theme in art at that time. Art from the early and high middle ages often depicted saints, angels and biblical scenes, but certainly not the common workfolk or even beggars. To have them adorning the outside of the cathedral no less, is very unique, and something that could only have been concieved in that particular time and place. Apparently, Jheronymous Bosch personally knew the artist very well who designed these sculptures.
Must've been one one of, if not, my most favorite wedding I've photographed. Exceptional location, Exceptional bride and groom, Exceptional guests, and the perfect window of oppurtunity to shoot. Congrats to the both of you!

Taken at the start of the womens tour 2014 in Oundle, Unfortunatley (or fortunatly dependant of your view point) I got stuck in a traffic jam due to the rolling road closures for 20min, so took the oppurtunity to grab the camera and get some shots as they passed by
Taken on Wednesday 11th May whilst on my way back to my native Wythenshawe, which (for those wondering) is in Manchester, seven miles south of the heart of Manchester and within a stones throw of Manchester Airport (hence the title).
Taken whilst heading back from the RAF Museum in Cosford with a few friends, we accidentaly came this way and this was a perfect oppurtunity to take this shot for posteriety.
It's a shot of the A41 in Tong, a rural area about mile north of Cosford, this is not far from Junction 3 of the M54.
The A41 southbound continues towards Wolverhampton, Birmingham and later London.

Okay, it was late at night, and we had a long day at six flags, so we got lost for a short moment in Abilene, Texas. Even though this is where my friend Daniel is stationed in the Air Force, the area can still be confusing. So we pulled over for a second to get our bearing straight and saw this awesome oppurtunity.
A cherished project of mine to capture and document the life by the gigantic river Brahmaputra that enters India in the north-eastern frontier state of Arunachal, travels through Assam and has its confluence with the ocean in Bengal.
I have been having discussions with quite a few eminent who have been born an brought up on the banks of this river. I have just started the project as I my work has started taking me to Dibrugarh University where I have become a catalyst to empower the youth of Assam. It is a blessing.

Last one tonight - promise!
I haven't really mentioned specifically why I have attached this link below to every picture. For this trip, I was invited by CAUSE to have the oppurtunity with several other individuals to travel to see the work they have down in Sierra Leone. CAUSE Canada has been in Sierra Leone since before the civil war - which many people are now familiar with due to the movie Blood Diamond.
It is difficult to understand coming from North America, where food and education are so abundant, yet people seem so unhappy, to a country in which so many hardships have been faced, and yet the triumphs over adversity seems to be what makes the Sierra Leone people so happy. The willingness and generousity expressed is beyond description. When an indivudal can offer a group of eight, more food then their family may receive in a week - with a smile on their face, the gift of receiving becomes so much more relevant.
If you have the time, please feel free to visit CAUSE Canada's site. Recently they have developed a sponsorship program for students in the three schools you see in these pictures, which will help to provide uniforms, food, water, supplies, and a special connection to a child and their community.

Thanks to the post that La Flaf posted the other day, I have started to look at Imogen's mess as possible photo oppurtunities. Normally I would have just picked up this teddy and out it back in the girls bedroom, but tonight I grabbed my camera, he looked so lonely sat on the stair. He had been joined by Imogen earlier in the day then he was naughty so she left him on the naughty step (our naughty step is the first step on the stairs, Imogen has decided that the naughty step for her teddy is half way up).
When taking her to bed, Imogen said goodnight, gave him a kiss and told him to be good, I certainly hope he behaves enough to be taken off the naughty step tomorrow.
