Not one for the purists due to the high level of processing, but I do like the composition and slightly strange feel to this.

R.I.P, Jessye Norman (15 September 1945 – 30 September 2019), the voice of an angel on Earth.
Now, sing forever.
**************
"Now that day has exhausted me
I give myself over, a tired child,
to the night and to my old friends, the stars–
my watchful guardians, quiet and mild.
Hands–let everything go.
Head–stop thinking.
I am content to follow
where my senses are sinking.
Into the darkness, I swim out free:
Soul, released from all your defenses,
enter the magic, sidereal circle
where the gathering of souls commences."
—Herman Hesse "When I Go To Sleep" (Beim Schlafengehen).
â–¶ One of 4 poems that composer Richard Strauss set to ravishingly lovely music as his "Four Last Songs, which Ms. Norman sang and recorded to great acclaim.

Salle de spectacle / The Auditorium. Charles Garnier built the auditorium in the tradition of an Italian theatre. Shaped like a horseshoe, the stalls are overlooked by several tiers of boxes and balconies allowing as much to see as be seen.
The ceiling by Marc Chagall was inaugurated in 1964 and affixed over the former one by Jules Eugène Lenepveu. Chagall completed the pantheon of opera composers whilst paying tribute to Garnier, with whom he shared a taste for shimmering colours
Sydney's Icon - This image was taken before sunrise on Australia day. I haven't tried square photo orientation in my photos yet but this one looks good I think.
As I was out and about taking pictures on an overcast February day, I came through the small town of Catawissa, PA. This old building was on the corner of a very busy cross-roads and it definitely caught my eye. I haven't found much information about the building aside from a fellow poster on Flickr. This building was apparently built around 1869. I'd love to learn more about this sharp old relic.
The beautiful opera house in Paris! Wish I'd had my Sigma 10-20 but still great to be back out with the camera

So I haven't been here for a while now. Quite frankly life had taken over. School, kids, every day life... ask any mom and she'll tell you how fast that happens. How easy it is to forget about yourself and tho do what you have to do. But dear moms, let's not forget about ourselves. Sanity... What do I do for my sanity? Answer: something that I love. So finally I got out, walked around the city and this is one of the beauties I stumbled upon. I love it! I hope you do too. Enjoy!
