Chinese opera is one of the oldest dramatic art forms in the world. These traveling troupes are preserving an essential cornerstone of culture and heritage dating to the seventh-century Tang Dynasty (618 to 907). The performance mixes martial arts elements, singing, and dancing, accompanied by music played on traditional Chinese instruments.
Performances are free — shrines around the country pay the troupes. The best chance to catch a show is around major holidays and festivals like Chinese New Year and the vegetarian festival. © Dennis Thern
There has been a a lot of blogging and pictures from the new Opera in Oslo on several blogs and sites all over the world. Here comes another one. I am not sure if this is better than other pictures, but I felt it was kind of interesting.

This Opera House once hosted first run Broadway Plays in Pocahontas, Virginia. Built in the late eighteen hundreds it was later used for High School programs and currently is one of the best preserved historic buildings in the town.
The Sydney Opera House is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007.[1] Based on the competition winning entry by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the Sydney Opera House is one of the world's most distinctive 20th century buildings, and one of the most famous performing arts venues in the world.
Louis Kahn remarked: "The sun did not know how beautiful its light was until it was reflected off this building".
The Sydney Opera House is situated on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The building and its surroundings are one of the best known icons of Australia.
As well as many touring theatre, ballet, and musical productions, the Opera House is the home of Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony. It is administered by the Sydney Opera House Trust, under the New South Wales Ministry of the Arts.
i can't remember for the life of me what's in a classic opera torte, but here's one i made. the ganache on top could have been less bubbly, but it sure was shiny. the upper right corner got bashed in when a certain person in my class pushed a kitchenaid bowl into it.
Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Presents Cantonese Opera Scenes
Since 2013, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts has offered a Cantonese opera degree in an effort to preserve the traditional art form designated as one of the world’s key cultural heritages. Cantonese opera presents stories of Chinese history and mythology with colorful costumes, distinctive falsetto singing punctuated by gongs, and intricate gestures rich with symbolism.
Students in this program gave performances from three separate operas demonstrating both northern and southern Chinese opera styles as well as mime, accompanied by the Chinese Opera Band of percussion and melodic instruments.

幼少よりクラシックバレエ、ピアノを始める。その後、liberaバレエスタジオにて延本裕子に師事。
さらに踊りの幅を広げ、様々な舞台や公演、メディアに出演し、現在ではコンテンポラリーダンサーとして活動中。
2020年よりダンスカンパニーDance Marcheに所属。今後も身体表現を軸に、歌、芝居、美術や様々な表現方法を模索していく。
冨岡瑞希<ダンサー>
6歳よりクラッシックバレエを始める。藤里照子、時田ひとしに師事。
2020年日本大学藝術学部演劇学科洋舞コース卒業。舞踊全般を学び、自作作品を多数発表。
卒業後、池上直子主宰 Dance Marcheダンサー育成プロジェクトに選抜され、コンテンポラリーダンスを本格的に習う。
その他、コンクール・公演・イベントなど積極的に活動し、活躍の幅を広げている。
小泉朱音<ダンサー>
6歳より守谷緑バレエ・ストゥーディオにてバレエを始める。 2013年 Iwaki Ballet Company『ジゼル』ペザント役、『ドン・キホーテ』キューピッド役など、ソリストとして出演。 2014年~2020年 NYへ留学。 Peridance Capezio Centerにてバレエ、コンテンポラリー、モダンダンスなどのダンステクニックを学び、iKADA contemporary dance company、The Next Stage Project、LaneCoArts、Azul Dance Theater等のカンパニー/プロジェクトメンバーとして活動。また、自身が振付/ダンサーをつとめるA&Yduoとしても活動し、数々の舞台経験を重ねる。 2020年夏に日本帰国
