View of Opera House as seen from harbor - and from our afternoon into sunset sail - just Nicole, Dave and our skipper, Tim, from Champagne Sailing Sydney, onboard the catamaran SeaScape.
Beautiful, clear and sunny day. Sailed from Walsh Bay near the Rocks, under bridge, past Opera House & Botanical Gardens, past Darling & Point Piper, moored in Camp Cove for drinks, hors-d'oeuvre, sun & chill - then out past Watson Bay to Harbour entrance, across to North Head, then back along north side, past Bradley's Head, to leaisurely sunset viewing just off Cremorne Point, back over along Opera House, Bridge, Luna Park. A great time.
I love the grand staircase of the Opera Garnier in Paris. Especially the big statues representing tragedy and comedy.

The Bardavon 1869 Opera House, in downtown of Poughkeepsie, New York is the oldest continuously-operating theater in New York State. Built in 1869, it served as a venue for various performing arts, community meetings, and celebrations until 1923; it largely resumed this heritage by becoming a general performing-arts facility in 1976. In the interlude period from 1923 to 1975, it served as a cinema, as well as a location for live performances, especially vaudeville, during those particular years. When the Opera House Opened it was named the Collingwood Opera House after its owner and operator James Collingwood, the theater featured an uncommon two-stage dome. Between 1869 and 1921, many notable figures of the day graced the Bardavon's stage, including Sarah Bernhardt and John Barrymore. The beautiful Opera House continues sharing venues from many playwrights, performers, retro/classic films, musicians and many more valuable talents. Take notice of all of the elaborate decor and dramatic scale of the architectural design. The Bardavon is more that and Opera House it is the doorway to history and extraordinary talent.

The Opéra Garnier is one of the Paris National Opera's two home venues in the city. It was built from 1861 to 1875 on a commission of Napoleon III, along with the Place de l'Opéra on which the building stands, at the intersection of Boulevard des Capucines and Avenue de l'Opéra. Inaugurated as "le Nouvel opéra de Paris" (the New Paris Opera), the venue became known as the "Palais Garnier" within the first decades of its existence, acknowleding the plans and designs of its architect Charles Garnier. The Paris National Opera now uses the Palais Garnier mainly for ballet. The Palais Garnier also houses the Bibliothèque-Musée de l'Opéra de Paris (Paris Opera Library-Museum), although the Library-Museum is no longer managed by the Opera and is part of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

The opera house in Copenhagen. It´s design is very contraversial and is sometimes called "the gas station". It looks good in dark though!
