Opera house for God in Ise Shrine

Hey team how are we all doing?

It be throwback Thursday today and I've finally finished processing a photo taken 2 weeks ago from my trip to Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Renown for its unique architecture this crazy critter being the Sydney Opera House continues to fascinate and inspire architects all around the world, or so I'm led to believe. This photo was shot from the Milson's Point side with a 70-300mm telephoto lens on a dodgy tripod.

The processing was done like this; firstly the photo was taken into Lightroom where the massively blinding highlights and whites were dulled down. The shadows were raised up a tad too as some parts of the photo were too dark. Then I played around with the colours using the HSL panel until I got the feel that I liked. I aimed to contrast the bluish sky with the orangey/yellow lights inside the building. I cropped the image and fixed up the horizon to make it straight. I then brought the photo into Photoshop and did some noise reduction using Imagenomic's Noiseware Professional software. Finally I cleaned off the image by using a combination of the clone stamp tool, spot healing brush and the brush tool. The most challenging part of this process was to get the image right in camera with the nasty gale forced winds of that night.

Hope you enjoy this one, and as always feel free to use this image in your videos, your website, you blog, print it out, remix it or do whatever you wish with it as per the CC licence.

All the best my people, don't stop shooting.

Paris...the seats were super comfortable...

The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney, Australia. Located on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, it is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous and distinctive buildings and a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture.

Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, but completed by an Australian architectural team headed by Peter Hall, the building was formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20 October 1973, 16 years after Utzon's 1957 selection as winner of an international design competition. The Government of New South Wales, led by the premier, Joseph Cahill, authorised work to begin in 1958 with Utzon directing construction. The government's decision to build Utzon's design is often overshadowed by circumstances that followed, including cost and scheduling overruns as well as the architect's ultimate resignation.

The building and its surrounds occupy the whole of Bennelong Point on Sydney Harbour, between Sydney Cove and Farm Cove, adjacent to the Sydney central business district and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and near to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The building comprises multiple performance venues, which together host well over 1,500 performances annually, attended by more than 1.2 million people. Performances are presented by numerous performing artists, including three resident companies: Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. As one of the most popular visitor attractions in Australia, the site is visited by more than eight million people annually, and approximately 350,000 visitors take a guided tour of the building each year. The building is managed by the Sydney Opera House Trust, an agency of the New South Wales State Government.

On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, having been listed on the (now defunct) Register of the National Estate since 1980, the National Trust of Australia register since 1983, the City of Sydney Heritage Inventory since 2000, the New South Wales State Heritage Register since 2003, and the Australian National Heritage List since 2005. The Opera House was also a finalist in the New7Wonders of the World campaign list.

Can never resist a photo of this.

Viewed from Mrs Macquarie's Point. There are amny vantage points from which to appreciate this amazing building - from a distance of up close rom within its courts. But this night view remains my favourite.

This Opera House exists because a few brave people dared to think differently. From conception to completion, the building tested the limits of engineering, construction and design.

Designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon, this World Heritage-listed masterpiece represents a breakthrough in modern architecture. Its famous "sails" have become a symbol of Sydney and modern Australia as a whole.

When the Opera House opened its doors in 1973, a new era of cultural discovery began. Now more than five decades later, it is the nation’s leading tourism destination, one of the world’s busiest performing arts centres and a community meeting place that belongs to all Australians. Its programming spans many arts forms and attracts a variety of audiences in person and online.

My last visit was to take my friends from Spain, Switzerland and Germany who were staying with us. We attended a Bollywood concert presented by Sulaiman and Salim- the Merchant Brothersto a concert hall filled by the Indian Diaspora in Australia. Culture, music, multiculturalism, colour and energy absorbed us all.

Il Giardino Italiano (Italian Garden)

Il Giardino Italiano includes fountains and water channels celebrating the sounds and elements of water. From the large children’s play area to the opera walk, the garden is a feast for the eyes and includes several Italian-style plantings of fruit and herbs. Bocce courts, numerous seating areas and a large feast table make this space a wonderful gathering area in the Park.

The Opéra Garnier in Paris is a great architectural landmark with neo-gothic style. These rich interiors(paintings, chandliers, gold leaf) are characteristics of Baroque sumptuousness (Jul 2008)

Part of the art and sciences complex designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Palau de les Arts stands as the world’s tallest opera house at 75 meters in a stunning 55,000 square-meter white silhouette encompassing four halls: the Sala Principal (Main Hall), Aula Magistral (Master Room), Auditorium and Martín y Soler Theatre. The Sala Principal seats 1,500 visitors mainly for opera and other performing arts, boasting four levels of seating and the world’s third largest orchestra pit. Spiralling staircases and panoramic lifts can be found towards the sides of the venue, offering various access paths to walkways and Mediterranean gardens.
