As the last portal into the Multiverse sealed shut I began a search for other passages between time and space.

Not so distant from the first openings that revealed Steampunk, Tribal, and the related Ages I recently uncovered yet another series of gaps in the Multiverse.

What is strange about these portals (there in all) is that the information streaming across them appear to be closely related to an Age of Avian influence. The images are stressed and warped, just like the Steampunk and Tribal work. Yet, even as exciting as these are, it is unclear just what purpose the image have on the other side of the gap.

I have stumbled upon something of incredible rarity. Images from across the gap between various Ages have, unexpected, become available to me. They have withstood the incredible stresses of Multiverse time sharing to be revealed here for perhaps the first time in this Post Modern Age. The scroll work looks to be mid-1800's French, perhaps from Paris.

Obligatory Strobist Info - Photonic Creations used one AB800 with SoftBox over center and slightly to the right, and ABR800 30 degrees to the left. Heavy post processing to taste.

I continue to revisit my earlier image sets to see if there is something I should work a little further. This is one such image. Using new techniques developed for the Bogville series, I'm finding I can further express the Steampunk idea with ever richer levels of details.

Ive got a pano in the works for this area, so much you cant see out of frame.

Its just awesome in every direction. 360 degrees of spectacular.

An image from a short holiday to the Spitzingsee. The spitzingsee is a small lake in the Alps. Due to the small size it was almost completely frozen and covered by a thick layer of snow.

Another image from my trip to the Baltic Sea. I got up before sunrise several times before i was rewarded with this beautiful sunrise one day before departure.

... still... in... the middle stages... of the process of creation... I uncover a creative expression that... gives itself over... nearly totally... to what my mind... and eye saw... and what my heart's heart experienced...

This reminds of an albumin print from the late 1800's.

This is the last pass through these images. As you can see from comparing other renditions here, I like to work and work and work and image until I get several samples that appeal to me.

Working in the idea of living in a multi-verse, rather than a uni-verse, I thought it would be fun to see where the mind might take me. I'm sure for some folks the mind has taken me WAYYYYYYY out there. :-)

I enjoyed working in the freezing cold. The snow was fun to watch as it fell. The temperatures helped make the steam from SP4449 really stand out against the sky.

For this series I wanted to continue with the hyper-reality enhanced micro-contrast work. These represent 3 images of a +/-2EV spread, tone mapped, sample colorized, and then selective colorized on top of all that.

For me, this is what photography and image making should be: Absolute unabashed fun!

I have been riding my bike since Spring from the house to downtown to catch the light rail system out to work and home again. Each day I pass over the Hawthorn Bridge. I love the ride for its sights and smells. The water is typically crisp and beautiful. The breeze is many times nice and refreshing. All the folks riding and walking across the bridge are fun to watch and talk to. In short, this is a lovely well used bridge.

This is the final act for the series of bellydance images from the Oregon Country Fair 2008. It was a great time. We got to sit and watch some of the finest dancers in the world, and they weren't more than 10 feet away.

I hope everyone likes the treatment. Texture layers has opened up yet another avenue for creative expression. I love the effect.

Lightning may have caused a brush fire burning in the west Valley.

Strong winds are fueling the 20-30 acre fire burning just east of the Phoenix International Raceway.

Afternoon thunderstorms rolled through the area near 91st Avenue and Dobbins Road around 4:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Most of the storm dissipated by 5 p.m. and is expected to remain north of Phoenix, the National Weather Service said.

The area in the Gila River Indian Community is reported to be fairly remote, according to the Gila River Fire Department, who is now requesting air support to put out the blaze.

No injuries or structures in danger were reported.

Having liked what I saw earlier, I processed the rest of the images from my trip to the Brooklyn Roundhouse.

These were taken +/-2EV, three layers, through HDR, into Tone Maps, then sepia tones (sample colorized).

Canon 40D, either 10-22 EF-S or 17-40 L, Qtfsgui, Gimp, OSP, etc...

Some of the mornings as I'm coming into work are spectacular.

As I watched Rachel Brice and her Indigo Bellydance Company I was struck by the primal timeless tribal - ness of their performance. To express that feeling in image I knew what I wanted.

I am seeking to explore the outer edges of the visual experience. To convey something we know culturally.

As I worked through the images from the Indigo dances I sought to dig deeper and deeper into the image, and to end up with work that shows these great dancers rising up from the earth and into being.

An interpretive image of how this place might have looked can be seen here.

I wanted to revisit some of my earlier images from the Roundhouse. I was disappointed in Canon's pano-stitching software and looked around for something from the Open Source community.

While I was at it, I thought I'd work on a couple more images. This is a straight 3 exposure HDR with tone mapping.
