Day Nine ICU: I took this picture while sitting with Lewis. I held out the camera and snapped without looking. But I like the composition.

Day Six: Still chatting nurse Daina up. If he would do something he wasn't supposed to do she would put her hands on her hips in mock consternation and say "MONKEY". He won't let us say that though.

Day Nine ICU: Recuperating, again (still).

Day Three: Resting in mother's arms in ICU.

Day Three: Biggest sister still concerned.

Day Seven: Kate and I went over to Hip Baby to get Lewis a going home outfit. Not pictured: his stylin puffa. It is going to take a while to get used to wearing clothes again.

Day One: He spent most of day one asleep, only stirring to fight the constraints on his arms and the tube in his mouth.

Day Three: Lewis got yet another new nurse to watch over him. He is being well cared for.

Day Ten ICU: Lewis does not usually like to be bundled up tight but his energy was so low he didn't seem to mind.

Day Five: They have been aware that I have been documenting the whole surgery and where told that I wanted to be there for when the chest tubes were removed. So when the doctors arrived we heard one of them say "has Lewis' film crew arrived?". Indeed!

Day Six: I continue to be amazed at the amount of data which can be extracted from the human body via wires.

Day Three: A quiet end to the day with grandma.

Day Three: Getting ready to be taken from Intensive Care.

Day Seven: Grandma was so happy to see the little guy home at last.

Day Ten ICU: One can never have too many pictures of a mother and her son.

Day Five: Karla didn't want me to post this thing but I kind of like the picture.

Day Seven: Lewis doesn't even know the joy he brings.

Day Three: Resting in ICU.

Day Ten ICU: Striking a pose while asleep.

just after the breathing tube was removed

Day Seven: Lewis has a new one of these, though it doesn't look much like this.

Day Three: There is a "get-to-know-me" whiteboard in his new room which Adelibe and Isabel wrote on for him.

Day Three: This shot was taken while Lewis was being wheeled by on his way to his new room.

Day Five: He was so relaxed and never complained once.

Day Six: Karla needed to step in to soothe him. I like how the two forearms echo each other.

The symbol of the heart will forever hold new meaning for us.

I got to feed him yesterday as well as today. He has been eating like a champ

They made name tag for his bed

Day Three: Though he has gradually lost tubes and wires he still has a few to go.

Day Six: First attempt at echoing Lewis' heart.
