It was an inspiring session at the Rwandan Embassy in Stockholm, where 16 vibrant companies from Rwanda visited. Their eagerness to explore more business opportunities with Sweden, the Nordics, and the Baltics was palpable.

Thank you, Your Excellency Ambassador Dr. Diane Gashumba, for organizing it. We also extend our gratitude to Business Sweden and Africa Sweden Chamber of Commerce, and we look forward to the potential contributions of all interested participants.

An awesome postcard that dates back to 1979. I found it recently at Arne's Royal Hawaiian Motel in Baker, CA. It was sent to Arne's from the Harbor Inn Motel in Anaheim, CA notifying them that they are open for business!

July 20, 2011, Albany - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announces historic changes to the state's economic development grant application process, continuing the Governor's efforts to redesign the way state government works in order to drive economic growth and create jobs.

Under the new process, the ten Regional Councils will be able to apply for state funding to support projects they determine to be part of their regional strategy using a new Consolidated Funding Application (CFA), making the projects eligible for grant money and tax credits from dozens of existing programs. The combined pool of funding accessible through the CFA totals up to $1 billion.

The Nation of Brazil has opened a Consulate in One Constitution Plaza on Market Street, Hartford, Connecticut in the old Connecticut Bank and Trust Main Office. Where do hungry Brazilian diplomats eat? Well, Braza on the Plaza Churrascaria is now open for business, and if the aromas wafting from the kitchen are any indication, their menu of variations on seared beef must be delicious.

Yep, it was probably a lot wetter yesterday as this restaurant is right by the river. But I admire their fortitude as it was open for business today.

It was a unique event, a convergence of Unstoppable Africa and Sustainable New Nordics, a meeting of two powerful forces, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

Africa is positioned to be the most critical driver of global business, with a market size opportunity of more than $3 trillion. The participants had the opportunity to experience the unique business environments of Rwanda and Zimbabwe, gaining insights into their potential for investment and growth.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Open House of Creativity, Tommi and his dedicated team, Absolicon, our esteemed partners, and all the participants who made this event a success.

The Vega Ventura was a medium bomber produced by the Vega Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Lockheed, during World War II. Vega Ventura bombers were used by various Allied forces for different roles, such as daylight bombing, anti-shipping, anti-submarine, reconnaissance, and even night-fighting. They first entered combat in Europe with the RAF in late 1942, but proved to be too vulnerable to enemy fighters and were soon replaced by the faster de Havilland Mosquito. They continued to serve in the Pacific theater, where they performed better against the Japanese forces. In total, 3,028 Vega Ventura bombers were built by the end of the war. The Media bandwagon was out in force with cameras from BBC News, Sky News and ITV as well as radio, but from tomorrow the Dawlish sea wall would be soon forgotten and any news of diverted lines no longer a priority.
