A Tunisian on-the-bias cowl that takes an asymmetrical shape with a star stitch seam! It's a great project for a yarn shop or online class.
This pattern first appeared as part of a set of Tunisian Crochet patterns called Burly Bias. It's the next step after a popular beginner pattern, the Burly Scarf.

Being frustrated from an online class is pretty normal..or at least to me. There are many things that can happen that can get you frustrated, keeping up is not always easy.
I'm taking another online class from Betterphoto.com. This time I'm taking a class called "Digital Wedding Photography". I've been asked to do a very small wedding at Tahoe in June and so I thought I had better find out a little about wedding photography before I take the gig. First assignment was to take a pleasing portrait (as if for a client) in 20 minutes or less. Second assignment was to use only available light and a 50mm lens (or the equivalent with the crop ratio.)
I had fun with this photo and my husband is a good sport. He figured it was a plus that I actually encouraged him to light up a cigar and pour some cognac for the shot. I told him that he didn't have to actually smoke the cigar, but he wanted the photo to be realistic. I also decided to use the horizontal view, rather than the standard vertical portrait shot because I thought it made the photo more interesting. I used my 85mm f/1.8 prime lens on this one. It's a pretty good portrait lens but I did have to stand back quite a ways.
These are the final collage pieces I created from an online class with Sharon Tomlinson and Deryn Mentock called Towers and Turrets. The frames were inspired by a workshop with Julie Haymaker Thompson.
I created this set of eye close-ups for my online class students. Although the techniques for eyes are very simple, eyes can be very difficult to get right. I worry less about perfection than I do about capturing the sparkle of life.

I took an online class from cvstearns to learn how to make this pc daisy. I think I did pretty good for my first try!!! She is a great teacher (and patient with my silly mistakes!!!!) I've never used a web cam before but it was pretty cool!!!
