Sharing some photos I'd intended to post here in 2024. I'm not feeling homesick. I don't regret my time in Columbia, but I don't miss living there.
I love this time of the year, but I hate it in Arizona. I wish that we could have snow here on Christmas Day... You can get it farther up north, but not where I am..

This one word led to much discussion between my husband and myself. He claims this is not a word and after checking a couple of dictionary's I was afraid he may be right however I did find Meow in the Webster's New World dictionary.
Meow (mē ou) n. the characteristic vocal sound made by a cat
This is a tiny 1.5" x 2" metal plate added to the bottom of a picture frame.
For 'Smile on Saturday' theme of 'One Word'
1928 and my mother was given this copy of 'Tannhauser' as a School Form Prize. Published in 1911 in London by George G Harrap & Co. Ltd. the volume is covered in green suede leather with gold embossing and gilded top page edges.
The book is showing its age, so am I and I'm not over 100 years old. The leather is rubbed especially on the spine but the pages are fresh and clean.
A lovely prize to have had for a 17-year-old., especially for her as there is a bookplate and the school coat of arms embossed in gilt on the back of the book cover.
So just taken out of my book cupboard, stood on my desk-top, lit with a couple of lamps, and photographed with the first camera to hand - a 2001 early digital camera.

In our neighbourhood park, people have added signs and painted rocks with colourful and positive messages. This is one. At the moment it's hanging lop-sided, so I thought I would go with that and make the photo lop-sided too. HSoS.
more macro shots.. I do LOVE this lens (this picture is SOOC) but I found out something yesterday that I hadn't thought of before. Because this lens is an EF-S it won't work if I upgrade to a full frame camera which I plan on doing.. so for that reason alone I will retun this for the 100mm macro when it come in.. but until then I will play with this one!! It is gorgeous. I love the silky smooth bokeh!!

In winter, I wear hiking boots anytime I'm going to be out of doors so that my feet stay warm and dry, which is handy on my daily walks.
For a number of years now, I've worn Timberland hiking boots in in both brown and black, alternating them day to day. I wore the last two pairs out and start this year with two new pair.
