"The fairy tale inside your head
Has become your new best friend
But I can assure you
That I'll be there before the story ends
When I needed a place to hang my heart
You were there to wear it from the start
And with every breath of me
You'll be the only light I see
I'm racing to the finish line
Of a lifetime that's barely started
The peace of mind I left behind
I'll pray you'll keep in your perfect garden.."

Created for Macro Monday's Theme, "One Word."
But this is really how I feel. The world right now could use a lot more of this.
This is a water droplet refraction. The blur in the background is the image refracted in the drop of water.
This was shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro, plus the Tokina AT-X 1:1 Extender and a Canon FD 25 U extension tube to get beyond 1:1 magnification.
Also, this is a 6 image stack to help get this tiny subject all into focus. Each image was shot at f11 and still even the slightest movement of the camera makes a huge difference.
The water droplet is maybe 2mm across and its holding onto the tip of a blade of grass.
This image took several hours to construct and bring together.
Each of the letters in the word were hand drawn and colored using my wife's very highly protected and pristine box of 96 Crayola crayons. She didn't want me to use them, but I told her I would be extra careful with each of them. She has had this box of crayons for decades. Our kids used up her original box of 64 and so she got a new box a long time ago.
"7 Days of Shooting" "Week #12" "One Word" "Worn and Weathered Thursday"...the one in the back was from my deck garden

With apologies for the title to anyone of my age, who is probably now involuntarily breaking into a quick round of 'Oh, the Esso sign means happy motoring...' :)
This is a vintage Esso uniform button. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but it's probably 1950s or earlier. It's a fraction over 1" wide. Luckily, the top part of the petrol pump in the background isn't showing because it's actually Shell. 'Keep going well, Keep going Shell' .... NO, not another song!! :)
For this week's Macro Mondays group theme, One Word.
