Took my camera for a walk around Soho at lunch time today. Stopped for a naked Morrocan salad box from a street stall on Berwick St along the way. A naked salad box is one without the bread. It was delicious. Mexican food stalls often do the same but the queue was really long there. Little do those people know what they missed out on.
Heading back to the office I passed by Ping Pong (Dim Sum chain if you haven't come across it before) and found this mini beach set up outside. Random! But fun.
SX-70 onestep modified for 600 with magnifying glass taped to the lens. 3-1/2" focal distance with a 1' total focal length. Halogen light source.

Subject Taken: Canon Canonet (Model 1)
Welcome to my, chronologically, 5th project, or my 4th assigned project this year. From this point forward, this will be known as my 4th project of the year. I was assigned this project with a completely different idea back in early December 2016. Unfortunately on December 15, I broke my wrist in an accident. As a result, I wasn’t able to work on it for almost 2 months. Not until February did I really began to work on it, due to complications with the injury (not being able to develop because of my cast), I decided to work on my 5th assigned project, The Memorial Project Q2, instead of The Unnoticed Camera Project. After completing The Memorial Project Q2, I dove right into this one. At this point my cast was already removed and I could develop film again! Originally I had intentions of capturing random things in my house: my toilet, my sink, my desk, etc. Although, after think about it for a month, I decided to do my own camera collection.
The project was originally titled The Unnoticed “Roll-O-Film” Project; however, I decided to change it to The Unnoticed Camera Project as it’s more specific to the project. Before that, however, it seemed kind of vague. Anyway, I’m proud to present The Unnoticed Camera Project. I will not be talking about every image individually, I might talk about a few, but I’m going to keep it very general, for there are about 12 images! This is possibly the biggest project I’ve ever worked on since The Musical Photo Project from Photography II.
In this project, I captured my own camera collection. I think I have about 18 cameras at the most in my collection. I didn’t even capture them all either! I chose my top 12 most favorite cameras in my collection to take. I shot the project with “premium” on my side. I shot the images with my favorite point and shoot, the Olympus 35RC. This small 35mm camera takes really awesome quality shots, and it’s in great shape despite it being roughly 40-45 years old! At our school, our teachers nicknamed it Dennis Rodman. Anyway, I chose to shoot on Eastman XX-5222 Black and White Motion Picture film, I love the balanced contrast it yields, and it’s perfect for shooting in mostly sunny environments, for it’s 200ASA film. Not only did I want to capture my collection, buy I wanted to capture the details on the camera that most people would over look: hence the name “Unnoticed.” When people shoot with cameras in general, they don’t care about the look or the design of the camera when they use it. The main idea I had for this project was so I could get people to stop and take a look at a camera and admire its design, whether it’s ugly or a work of art. People don’t have the time to stop and take a moment to appreciate the camera that they use, I do it a lot. I’ve met people who have cameras, and they only see them as a utility overall. Anyway, it took roughly three weeks to edit all 12 images. Basically I removed any dust/dirt particles that had accumulated on the negatives in Photoshop. Then after cropping the images, I added the vignette layer on top of them. The vignette layer was sort of an afterthought addition. After about the third or fourth image, I felt they could use something more, so I added vignette to them. Overall that’s all I really have to say about the project. I really appreciate you for taking the time to check out my work. I’ll see you next time in my first 3rd quarter photo project! Another Polaroid Ring Light Portrait, captured with an original Polaroid SX-70 OneStep camera and new Polaroid SX-70 film.
Materials: Onestep 2 Polaroid, square of glass, digital photography, Camera RAW, Adobe Photoshop.
Process:I set up a bunch of ripped book pages and placed my model ripping up a book in the middle. I took the image on a Onestep 2 Polaroid camera and cut the image open to preform an emulsion lift. Which I then placed on glass and waited for it to dry. I took a photo of the emulsion lift on glass and proceeded to add contrast, saturation, and a fine black border to the image to frame in the white background.
Ideas: How can an artist depict the illusion of the ‘perfect’ family situation and the reality that bubbles below the surface?
This dog has kept me up all night. She's got kennel cough, she's got fleas, she's timid and nervous, pee-ed in my office, doesn't understand "stay" or "sit" yet, won't perform tricks for friends, has runny poo, smells, can't have a bath because she's still got stitches from having been spayed on monday, and did i mention she smells and has fleas?
Because of her, i got Maybe three, three and a half hours of sleep. it felt like i haven't slept at all.
oh, and i adore her. her name is lula, and she's all black except for a white stripe under her jaw. isn't that precious? and she follows me everywhere, and wags her tail all cute, and doesn't bark AT ALL, which is weird and creepy but perfect and is the perfect size and i love her so much!

My fifth and sixth packs of polaroids with the OneStep+ were the standard colored instant films with white frames. I started shooting them at a new year's party at the end of 2019 and continued well beyond the birth of our son on February 8th 2020.
Taken with Polaroid OneStep+ analog camera. Polaroid Originals I-Type instant color film, slightly expired.
