'Roid Week Autumn 2021 day 4/1.
Before work yesterday, I couldn't resist the golden light pouring in the windows. Nor could I resist the urge to expose my first sheet of i-Type film in my freshly converted Pronto Sonar OneStep.
It looks like I need to be a bit more careful of bright splashes of light, as it caused a little underexposure. I think my conversion is well calibrated, as my test shot outside today seems to be perfectly exposed. That said, I'm fine with this result! It's almost more interesting this way than how I imagined it being.

Polaroid OneStep 600.
If you continue hiking past the site of the historic Van Winkle's mill, you eventually hit Beaver Lake. This little cove is one of many fingers of the lake. It seemed the water was down quite far on our trip. The exposed gravel of the lakebed was quite bright, which made for an interesting exposure on Polaroid.
It's not often you end up with a foreground that meets or exceeds the brightness of the sky. This led to a photo with darker trees and water and a lot of midtones and detail in the skies. What is most interesting to me is how it really brought the few clouds in as a prominent feature. In real life, it was quite a sunny day.

Gideon on the new Polaroid Purple 600 Film, Reclaimed Series. Shot in the vintage Polaroid OneStep auto focus (blue frog) camera.
First shot on the pack, although the very first piece of film ejected along with the dark slide, with interesting results.
I found the film difficult to scan and get the colour correct to the print. Scanned on Epson flatbed photo scanner.

Even with a pod failure and leaking I liked the way the photo ended up, the tones look interesting...and it's reminder that we can save a little when getting expired film but this kind of things would happen too.

It's kind of crazy to think that this little box has been the birth place to many Eastern Bluebirds now. I used it as a subject while testing my Polaroid Pronto Sonar conversion to i-Type film the other day. That just made me stop and think about how interesting it is to have a successful bird house or two.

Hopefully this week I'll be feeling better and get around to converting this camera to use 600 and i-Type film. Getting the capacitors swapped in these is right work! I think it may be my favorite Polaroid camera!
