A beaded snake crafted by the Huichol Indians of Northern Mexico. Serpents in the Huichol culture are responsible for bringing rain or imparting skill in embroidery. Each tiny glass seed bead is individually pressed onto a beeswax coated surface, either carved wood or a hollowed out gourd. From the collections of Ardell Tharaldson.
