Paul Munene displays a crate of ready rooted apical cuttings to one of his customers, Purity Gitonga outside his net tunnel. Paul produces the cuttings in his net tunnel and sells them to other farmers to multiply and produce clean seed in their farms. He also teaches the farmers on how to plant and maintain the cuttings in their bed before multiplying further in their farms.

Potato farmers hold crates of cuttings ready for transplant to the field. The farmers buy the rooted apical cuttings from their neighboring farmer who produces them from the net tunnel behind them. Through the use of cuttings, they have not only increased their yield but also improved their lives.

That took place on March 15th with the presence of Iván Duque Márquez, President of Colombia and Rodolfo Zea Navarro, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia. During the event, Joe Tohme (Director of Crops for Nutrition and Health for the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT) was honored the Orden Nacional al Mérito-Gran Caballero.
