Jane Muthoni Murugu has taken up the challenge to do potato farming since her husband passed on in 2020. Her husband multiplied seed potato from rooted apical cuttings in their farm and Jane is now actively doing the same. She buys her cuttings from her neighbor across the road, Cecinta Nduru who produces them in her net tunnel and has walked with Jane teaching her everything she needs to know about the technology. Jane has now moved into her new house (out from the wooden house behind her) that she says was constructed through proceeds from the sale of seed multiplied through apical cuttings.

Raphael Kinoti, tends to his farm of seed potato produced through rooted apical cuttings. When he first got his training, he tried out with 25 cuttings. After 2 rounds of multiplication, he had 4 sacks of clean seed. Since then he only used apical cuttings to produce seed in his farm. Luckily for him, his neighboring farmer sells cuttings to them produced from his net tunnel.
